buying top of the line PANTS

Recommended Posts

Yea, Tackla

Thanks epstud,

I've always had an interest in Tackla pants because of their reputation and the generally positive opinion here on the boards but I've never been able to try them on in person. Will be looking into getting a hands on look when I'm on spring break.

Are there any offerings from some of the bigger names that are close to what I'd be looking for?

I used to wear Tackla 950/951's. They are good pants, but not very protective. I'm now in One95's. I find them to be a great balance between weight, mobility and protection. If you can get a good deal on a pair, go for them. Otherwise, get a set of Total One's when they come out. They are probably only better.

The 951s are a rec level pant compared to the Tackla 9000

Tight waist loose legs is what I'm looking for.

I'm 6'2" and hovering around 235. My st16s are comfy in the legs but too big in waist in XL (had the belt relocated which helps pull it in to my body tighter.) Larges were too tight in legs, sort of between sizes.

Out in New England I never seem to be able to find Tacklas in my size range. I'm away at school in upstate NY, so spring break I may see what I can find.

Thanks for all the help man!

Really like the Tackla 5000 Pro pants. Have one pair of them and another with the Tackla 5000 uppers and a padded Warrior lower section. Also the RBK/Jofa 7000 which is very similar to the Tacklas. Plenty of protection and a nice snug fit around the waist but no restriction in the legs with both.

Tight in the waist and loose in the legs pretty much describes the Tackla 9000s and the Graf G700 pants I also linked you to. Both are very similar pants in fit and both have European origins

Nearly forgot the Graf G700's. I had/sold a pair of them and they fit great too; as mentioned they're similar to Tackla pants in terms of fit.

yep like people say, get a lower model with less padding, i got some one95 and they are realy heavy compared to regular price, so much useless protection

I wanted to ask your personal opinion about some hockey pants. My current gear is 3k pants, x:60 shin/should/elbow pads and stick, m11 helmet, supreme one70 skates, and one75 gloves. I was thinking about getting the x:60 pants but my only concern is that they do not have buttons and will they stay up? I'm 6'1 200 lbs. I also like the s19 but heard the stitching comes apart easily and I like the CCM U+ pro pants as well. I am a Bauer man but am open to suggestions on what you thinks the best pants are in terms of lightness and mobility as well as protection. Thanks.

anyone please?

i need to contact hockey giant to add pants to my order before they ship tomorrow! thanks!

If i were you check out the Reebok 11k pants. I just got a pair and they are insanely comfortable and give you amazing mobility

I second the 11k's. Sorry if this has been brought up before but I've heard that the Hustler's run big. If I normally fit a small in the reeboks, should I get an xs in the hustler's and if so, will the legs be too short? I'm a 30 waist, 5'9.

I would say yeah, go XS. I'm about a 34" waist, 6'1, and I'm in a size small Hustler pant. The length is just about perfect, as they seem to be a little longer in the inseam than my size 50 Tackla 9000's. I had heard about the sizing being big in the Warrior's, but I was really surprised when I tried them on in person.
