Easton Stealth S17 Skate sizing.

Recommended Posts

I'm currently wearing a size 6.5D in Reebok 11k. My Vapor xxx's were a 7D, and my Easton 1500C's were 6.5R.

I tried on a pair of 7R S17 at my lhs and my toes were at the end of the boot. Will they slide back that much after baking?

Or will really need to go to a size 7.5R?

I find it strange to go up a full size from my old 1500's. Any thoughts or experiences with this is much appreciated.

I had the same thing. I am a 6.5D in the U+12/CL and Rbk but I am a 7.5R in Easton S11 and S15. For some reason the shape of my foot allows me to go very small in CCM/RBK but I find I am a 7.5 in Bauer and Easton. I thought maybe a 7 would be ok but my toes were crammed and curling no amount of baking was going to fix that.

For reference I am a size 9 shoe.

No it will not, the foam they use is not very soft or slow recovery foam because of the composite shell behind it, so it has very little give during molding. Also when you're on ice the cold shrinks everything by a small margin and this is not the skate you can afford to buy small, better off with bigger size and thicker sock. Maybe 7.5N instead of 7.5R. Next time youre in a store try to use thinner insoles from your Vapor skates to see if that gives more room.

Cheers

Agreed as I had to go 1/2 size up in my S15. Was a 9-9.5 in every other skate and am a 10r is easton.

I have Bauer XXV's and they are a size 8. My Easton SE16's are a size 8.5. Both skates fit me the same in length. I believe you need to go up a half size when you get Easton skates.

Putting a thinner insole in the S17 size 7R will give me more room length wise??

Can anyone comment on the differences between the synergy and stealth series in regards to fit? Do the stealth series fit smaller than the synergy series?

Will taking out the heel lifts make any difference? Possibly help my foot fit deeper in the boot?

the heel lift actually brings your toes in the back, thus giving you more space, at least it was the case in the se16 whites, but the heel lifts give you less ankle support

i dont think theres much to talk about the fit between stealth or synergy, its more about composite to regular material. my se16 composite fit me .5 smaller and still i left tight. where all other non composite eastons ive had it was 1-1.5 smaller. look it up on icewarehouse for proper sizing

Your foot will sit deeper without the lifts which in my case caused a problem with the way Easton does their ankle padding.

You're better off getting the right fit out of the box. This skate isn't going to give much if at all any.

Id say Stealth= .5 down from shoe size

Old Synergys= 1-1.5 sizes down from shoe size

This is from my my personal experience

I was reading another thread on here and some people said they wore 1.5-2 sizes down from their shoe size in a S17. I dont know how though, I wear a size 10(snug)shoe and in a 9 S12 my feet are smashed against the toe cap. 9.5 are perfect (toes graze)

Does anybody from Easton ever go on this site? I was at a different shop today, and they had an easton foot sizer, and it said I was a 7. However, that doesn't mean a whole lot..

Does anybody out there know anybody who works for Easton?

My current skates are Easton Z-Air, 2002 model. Size 7.5D. Fit great. I'm a 9-9.5 shoe size, and Easton says to wear 1.5 sizes smaller. I just bought a pair of Easton Stealth S12's. Tried on the S17's in a size 7.5R, along with the Bauer One80's in 7.5, and both felt good, and similar in fit to my Z-Airs. Just received my S12's and they seem to be a bit snug in the toes on my larger foot. Haven't baked them, that makes me a bit nervous. I'll wear them sitting on the couch a bit and skate on them, and come back and comment on how they feel.

I have worn 1500, S15, SE16, and S17 all in size 8. Did not notice any real difference other than that the stealth lines were cut higher and maybe has slightly less volume, but not enough to make a difference. I wear a 9.5-10 shoe.

kind of like vapor vs supreme, i found the synergy to be shallower and more narrow fitting than the stealths.

Skated in my friends Stealth S11's yesterday. They were size 7.0R. They right foot was perfect, and the left foot was ok, except my big toe was a little tighter than I normally like. Do the S17's size the same? If so, I should be able to go with a size 7.
