Can skates lose their fit?

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of One95s that I had baked. I haven't used the skates in over a year. It seems that the heal is much narrower than I remember. Is it possible that the effect of baking goes away? How many times can you bake One95s?

Thanks in advance

It is possible that in the last year your feet have widened out too. I am having similar issues with the fit of my One90's and I know my feet have definately widened out a little bit since I bought them.

I was told by a lhs you can bake them 3 times.

unlikely the skate would get narrower as foams only compress over time, not expand and Alive isn't known for changing shape once it sets

not sure how old you are but maybe your feel simply grew a bit?

In any case One95 can easily be baked up to 3 times.

I have two different skates; Graf 735 and NB 55. With both I find the "fit" changes from skate to skate and it is moat constant when I have been working at the deal and them have my 1/2 hour drive to the rink AND I have had a lot od water to drink.

My foot shape changes depending on tome of day, activity, diet or water intake. Yeah, yeah it sounds like a lot of b.s. but for the most part i believe my feetchange more than my skates

the foot can actually grow in width and narrow throughout the course of your life, interestingly enough I used to fit in a D size skate now I have to use EE, and sometimes losing weight will make a change.

I was reading some pamphlet at my doctor's office regarding foot care for diabetics and one thing I noticed was that your foot shape and size does/can change slightly over time. Now I know why some of my old skates don't fit anymore even though lengthwise my foot hasn't changed. Also, when I gain/lose weight, I notice that my foot width changes.

EDIT: Just tried on an old pair of 703's and they're even too small length wise.

Ya, I asked my podiatrist about it and he said don't get rid of the other skates they may come to fit again. Funny how that works
