tapered shaft with highest kickpoint

Recommended Posts

i have too many tapered blades that i want to use up. the problem is over the last couple years i have developed a liking for higher kickpoint shafts. i understand tapered shafts are for low kickpoints so no need for a lesson on shafts. so what are the tapered shafts with the highest kickpoints? x60 with its intelligent flex (or whatever its called)? i understand that none will compare to a one95 but the higher the kickpoint, the less i'd have to adapt. please, only answers from personal use. thanks

I'd say either the Easton SE/EQ tapered shaft or... maybe a Dolomite? X60's definitely have a low kickpoint and feel stiffer than rated to me. The Easton's flex really high. I have some 70 flexers that practically flex at my bottom hand. They're ridiculously whippy and I can't get any pop out of them. I've felt an 85 flex'er in store and it was the same way, really high kickpoint.

why not look for a one95 tapered shaft. i think tsr has sold them in the past as a smu

If u can find one let me know. I can't even find one95 standard shafts anymore.

The tapered One95 shafts do indeed kick a bit higher. Maybe not as high as a pure mid-flex stick, but still noticeable. I LOVE it. The SE16 shaft has a higher kickpoint as well.

I know that the S19 OPS had a kevlar wrap around the hosel area and that shifted the kickpoint up a bit. Wouldn't that be true for the S19 shaft too?

No, because unlike the direct link between the SE16 shaft and stick (both tapered), the S19 shaft is entirely different than the one-peice. The stick has different technology and elliptical taper whereas the shaft is a standard shaft based off the design of the old Z-Bubbles. The paint job on the two is the only thing they share.
