Bauer warranty policy

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

i have purchased a nike bauer 9500 combo helmet from hockey monkey in september 2010. in has very little usage time on it and i already have problems. half of the gel pads are unglued and out of place, which causes a lot of hair pulling and discomfort and the ''occipital strap?'' shifts out of place all time so i have to remove the helmet all the time and fix it on the bench. i have called bauer to see what they think and they aknowledge that they had ''some minor issues'' with that helmet but cant do anything about it. i have to go to throught hm to get my gels pads reglued. now i really dont feel like dealing with the retards at hm (mind yourself they lost my skates once and truly believed that ive recieved them, i had to file a complaint bbb to get a refund)so dealing with hm another time is out of question, i really do believe that they have one the worst customer service around.

do you think theres any way i can get my helmet replaced directly throught bauer? im kinda pissed off at spending 130$ on high end helmet and having issues with so little usage. anything i can say to make them change their mind?

1. The skates came after my helmet purchase

2. Not sure if you read the text or just looked at the pic, but i believe it is clearly written that i spoke with bauer already

I'd just go through Bauer's return department. You can get an RA# online and then send it back. Sometimes the RA folks can be a little more understanding once they get the equipment in hand and see the problems.

Can you find an LHS to go to bat for you with Bauer, or a Bauer rep?

not sure what you mean

I doubt a LHS would be very willing too considering he bought it off HM.

It's only one purchase, no telling what kind of relationship he has with his LHS based on that.

Asking a LHS to contact Bauer on your behalf, maybe utilizing the Bauer representative that the LHS deals with. It might take a little salesmanship on your part if you never buy from them.

It's past warranty, u didn't buy it from ur lhs, why would they help you?

I sire as hell wouldn't. This is why yearly we convert many people from online clearance items to buying their stuff from us, or Atleast buy current product.

Coulda sworn I remembered something about products no longer produced after a year no long having a warranty....

It's stiff like this and ur situation when I laugh at people who buy clearance stuff who have issues with it bc u have Dick with it, and then get pissy online won't help you and nether will ur lhs. If bauer won't do anything about it how could a dealer?

Don't know where you saw that one.

But seriously, English please? Nobody is going to take you seriously if you're speaking in Internet shorthand. Why is it that I always have to be correcting you?

I use my phone for everything. Much easier to type bc instead of because. Depends how lazy I am when I post...

So they still offer warranty on a product they stopped supporting over a year ago, and haven't made since most likely in last 18-20 months. Personally I just find that stupid for the manufacture. Less reason to get upgraded model and having to warranty items that could have been made five years ago. Seems like easy way to scam system. *SCAM DELETED* Not a fan of clearance items having full warranty. I'm sure they have a good reason, I just don't see it.

Just for the record, JR may be the only one who mentions it, but I think a lot of us have some trouble reading what I think of as "kiddie text", and I agree that it makes it harder to take it seriously, though I try.

My daughters learned pretty quickly that the house rules require proper spelling, once one of them lost computer privileges when we saw the emails among her friends were inane four character texts. But to drive home why we're sticklers about it, one of their friends recently failed a test or paper because she wrote it in text language.

Even knowing what l8r, ur, r, ty and all the rest mean, I just find it slower to read.

If the warranty expires, there is no incentive for someone to buy a clearance item. If consumers refuse buy the clearance or old product, the retailer is stuck with inventory of it. If the retailer is stuck with the inventory of it, then they will not stock up much on newer products or they will order less in order to not have excess in the future. Thats they way I see it at least and another reason to me is if the product is new and you warranty it to not fail, why should a warranty expire, that would portray that an item doesn't last or the company is stingy to the consumer? Its not like a bag of chips that expires over time.

Can't have the warranty expire on the retailer's shelf, as you say; that's why it's keyed to the date of sale to the consumer.

It's not stupid for a manufacturer, it makes business sense. And the longer it's been since the date of manufacture, the less product is available, and the less potential cost there is for new warranty claims.

^you make no sense, and i sure wouldnt buy from you, because you seem to know your stuff very well (its 1 year warranty for helmets)

LOL'ed.

It may not be pretty or fun but if you cant get any help your best option may be a bandanna or one of those things that UnderArmour makes that is like a skullcap type of thing to help with the hair pulling. Good luck.
