Easton Stealth S19 Hockey Pants...Easton Protective Gear in the GTA

Recommended Posts

Anyone try these pants?

Thoughts?

Aside from their composite sticks, why is their a lack of availability on Easton protective equiptment in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). I think it could be argued that there is nowhere on earth where the money spent per capita on hockey is higher.....which begs the question, why is their a complete lack of Easton protective gear in the GTA?

I haven't tried these pants, however; I just looked them up on the Pro Hockey Life site and they're available in some sizes at both the Vaughan Mills and Whitby locations (and it indicates call to check for Heartland). They aren't TTC accessible, but if you have a car or you can get a lift you can get them there in person if they have the size you need. http://www.prohockeylife.com/hockey-pants-senior-hockey-pants-c-3_24_81/easton-stealth-s19-sr-hockey-pants-p-3821

I haven't personally noticed a lack of Easton protective equipment at various stores across the GTA, but I do know that very few stores carry all models of all brands. Most stores have limited shelf space and will want to stock brands that have historically sold well at their stores. One of the few chains that seem to carry just about everything is Pro Hockey Life, although even they didn't have the Warrior Projekt girdle (I couldn't find that anywhere in the GTA).

Because it isn't that good and doesn't sell well?

Are you saying in general or specifically with this particular pair of pants?

Do you have any thoughts on the pants?

I have the new S-19's and they are great. Light and very protective with great mobility. Great air circulation as well. I am very pleased with them and preferred them over the Reebok 9 and 11K's.

My LHS told me that they have been getting some Easton Stealth series pants back for warranty issues. They told me that one of the belts are attached with elastic and has been detaching from the pants. Its the belt that keeps the tongue in front in place.

They seem like a decent pant from trying on the stealth series. I tried on a S13 as the S19 was out of my price range. I ended up getting Reebok 7k as they fit better than the S13.

Traditionally, their protective has been disappointing. Many shops really aren't interested in taking a risk, especially when other brands have a better track record.

I have the S19 pants and I love them. If they fit you will love them. Lightweight with great mobility and protection. Been very durable for me as well. I have always had good luck with easton protective gear.

Try Hockey Experts. Dixie Road just north of Eastgate Drive on the west side in Mississauga. They have a stock of S-13's and S-19's. You can call ahead to make sure they have the size your looking for. You can look up their phone # on 411.ca.

Exactly only thing that I have seen that was exciting was the Pro Stock or at least pro level gear they are offering which looks and feels like a Reebok piece. But yes when companies like Reebok and Bauer have such a stranglehold on the protective and just overall hockey market stores don't want to sink potential lost dollars in a product.
