flyers10 57 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 The biggest here in AZ is the Ice Den. It will have a 3rd sheet finished in November(concrete finally, not sand). 3 other rinks have 2 sheets each.
JR Boucicaut 3801 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 Isn't that Fraiser...Superior, Erie, Michigan, Huron, and Ontario? I haven't been there in 3-4 years, but the only nice rinks were Erie and Superior, all the other's were horrible in terms of the ice itself, even the bench's and everything and stands were beat up. Too many tournaments....good tournaments, but after like 10 a year + all the leagues, it got torn up.Troy Sports Center has 4. I think NewEnglandSportsCenter has 4 also.Yeah, they are all named after the Great Lakes. Superior is the one with stands.
GuitarAwesome 1 Report post Posted July 14, 2011 Montreal has two separate Canlan ice sports 4 Glaces (4 ices). One in Brossard, which is the worst excuse for ice I have ever seen. Seriously. Like, there's holes in the boards behind the net, which causes stoppages when the puck is lost. Once, there was a leak in the ice system, causing a hole in the middle of the ice. They didnt even cancel shinny, just stuck pilons around it, told us to go for it. ....they have 4 rinks, this should not be happening. We have another one in Pierrefonds, which is amazing. 3 normal ice, one international. Ice is incredible.
GmC 4 Report post Posted July 19, 2011 Winnipeg's Canlan has 3 ice surfaces and an indoor soccer field. They used to have 4 ice surface. The new MTS Iceplex ( http://www.mtsiceplex.ca/) is just a few kilometers away and has 4 NHL sized rinks, all with seating for 1000 or more, automated music for when play stops and real time boxscores on the web for their league. Apparently this facility was built in anticipation of the Jets coming back to be used as a practice facility.
Spence4101 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2011 Burnaby 8 Rinks has six NHL sized rinks, an indoor soccer field and a rink dedicated solely to figure skating, I played there a few years back, just a beautiful facility.
Jarick 5 Report post Posted July 20, 2011 http://www.nscsports.org/facilities/superrink/index.stmBeat me to it. I had clinics there this spring, not a bad facility, just sucked to have a 30 minute drive to get there after work.Had no idea those rinks were Olympic sized though, they felt regular size to me... The complex also has 50 some soccer fields, a stadium, track, velodrome, and golf course. Rumor has it (for a little while now) that plans for 4 outdoor refrigerated sheets are in the works as well.
