Curve Help

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I am currently using a Wes Walz prostock warrior blade and am quite liking the curve. I'd like to get my hands on some more, but based on the fact he has been out the NHL for over 3 years I think that might be a long shot.

So I'm hoping someone might be able to give me suggestions of a curve that would be similar. I've looked through various blade pattern descriptions/pictures but I'm not really sure.

Here are a couple of links to pics on the patterndb website:

Thanks in advance...

yeah it looks close to a thornton from years past, didn't they change it up for this year? if you don't mind using a 2 piece stick you could get sherwood to make a few tapered blades for you, but that would involve cutting the blade off if I'm not mistaken

I'm currently using a 2 piecw with a Walz curve blade. Any idea how much making custom blades costs?

Also, I just ran across some pics of a TPS Afinogenov curve. Looks kinda similar to me, but I wouldn't mind a second opinion from anyone who has used it before.

It is not too hard to find a curve to its specs, it is a pretty standard neutral face mid. The problem is you won't be able to find anything as short as the Walz at retail.

Iginla or old Heatley are the closest I know of.

The length isn't too big of an issue. A slightly longer blade in the same curve would be fine.

I've never used an Iginla or Heatley but from looking into them neither seems quite as curved as the Walz (as 'banana like') It could just be my eyes, but both of those curves seem to straighten up a little towards the toe, where as the Walz doesn't so much.

Warrior Kovalchuk has a similar curve, as does the Sherwood Coffey. I can't tell from the picture if the blade opens up at all, but if the Walz curve doesn't wedge open anywhere, the Kovalchuk or the Coffey would be pretty close.

you dont have to cut it off, or pull it out. i sent in a blade to sherwood to get some t90s made and i recieved my blade with the sticks i ordered. in your case if you have a 2pc. just pull out the blade and send it in. youll get it back with the three cloned ones. they are 89 each minnimum of 3 im pretty sure

I still have an old school typhoon with a ccm thornton in it.

I recently just bought a new stick and I chose the heatley and I adapted really quick as it was the most similar I could find.

Hope this helps.
