where to cut a si-core

i know this is probably been mentioned lots before...but i broke my sicore last night and want to throw a new blade into in(synthsys or that style) but im not too sure where to cut and how to go about it. Any tips would be helpful.

CUT THE SHAFT AT THE POINT WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE THE BLADE IS GLUED ON. THEN CUT LIL BY LIL TILL THE BLADE FITS INTO THE SHAFT. IF U UT TOO FAR U MAY NEED TO PUT A LIL BIT OF TAPE IN THE INSERT PART OF THE BLADE TO MAKE A GOOD FIT

Break your computer.

Find the fuse point line and chisel, s'what I did with my regular synergy.

how well do they work when you put a taper fit blade in?

does it feel the same as a synergy or am I better off saving my $90(CAD)

you have to cut higher than a taper blade measures to avoid the plastic center piece. its a little bit of guesswork but a taper still fits even if you cut it a little bit high

No, just use a chisel........Don't worry about the centerpiece, you can just chisel throught that.

I believe you would just heat the fuse-point up until you are able to yank the blade out of there.

yes that works, but sometimes it dosent, and youll end up burning the fuse point...

I took a piece of metal, tapped to see where it was hollow and started a little below that. Then worked my way up, the shaft turned out well, I'm just too damn lazy to chisel, but you could do that as well (when you start below the hollow sound).
