Broken Stick/Replacement....

Recommended Posts

I hope this isn't too much of a silly question. I recently broke a Bauer stick (p92/87 flex) and Bauer sent me a TotalONE as a replacement execpt in p91a/77 flex (clearly not the same curve or flex). I can't use a 77flex (way too whippy for me and I break em too!) ... I called Bauer today and they said they couldn't do anything about their mistake as it is at the discretion of the company what they send out.

Question: I need a receipt to return it at a retail level and my local shop told me to call Bauer (because they would rectify the problem... clearly not) Is there anything I can do with this stick besides use a terrible flex or cut my losses and sell it on ebay? Any suggestions?

Your best bet at this point is to potentially find someone on the forums who might trade it for something you want or just sell it and put the money towards something else.

Go to a local shop and buy a TotalOne in the curve/flex you want, and use the receipt to exchange the one Bauer sent you?

Except that they mark the serial #'s on the receipt now, not to mention the flex and curve as well.

The only store I have here that sells hockey gear(Scheels) doesn't mark anything.

Not locking your door at night doesn't mean you deserve to be a victim of theft either. Don't shortchange your shop, it makes you a bum.

The local shop isn't losing anything. They still have a TotalOne worth just as much as it was before. Just a different curve/flex.

That's called fraud

But the customer that buys it gets no warranty. Your screwing over someone.

unfortunately most people are selfish and only care about themselves. As long as they aren't the ones being screwed they don't care.

If they had wanted that one they would've ordered it. Not only are you tossing a curveball to the person who handles inventory but you're also (as someone correctly pointed out) putting a stick on the rack that will be denied warranty service should it be purchased/defective. I can't imagine what Bauer would say to the shop that sold a warranty replacement product.

Being that person, different industry but still same ethics apply, it's a dickhead move on the customers part.

We always catch the douchebags who try to return something not purchased at our store. Receipt has serial number and all identifying info on it. We tell the douchebag, you didn't buy that stick here, get the F out and don't come back. We don't like being scammed. As someone said above, if we wanted that flex and curve, we would order one. These kind of customers are scum and are not welcome. Some people have no shame.

Guess we know who the POS is in this thread....

Would it possibly work to swap it at a local shop or try to return it? Possibly, but don't be a poor human being.
