You can easily police coaches use of a review by hinging it on the timeout. Take away the timeout if they lose the challenge and they can't challenge if they don't have their timeout.

Its about time he came through. Also about time we scored a PP goal

Stepan's spin-o-rama was sick. The kid is so underrated.

Nice, clean hit by Dominic Moore tonight.........

He makes it so obvious that he doesn't like the Rangers organization every time he plays them.

Honestly, I really wish we would've kept him instead of Betts when we had the chance. Not that Betts wasn't a good player for us, but as far as 4th line centers go, Dom Moore is probably one of the best.

Me too. I had liked him and was surprised they let him walk. Same with Betts but then again, at that time, the Rangers were loaded with Centers. I do miss Betts. He'd be an amazing pair with Cally on the PK. In fact, I'd take Betts of Boyle any day of the week.

Howson is in attendance for today's game. Precursor for a trade? I really don't want Nash or carter, but that's the scuttle bug.

They're peaking early, it's going to be hard to maintain this momentum through the end of the season and then into the playoffs.

I have that fear too Chadd. Saw this with the Flyers last year, etc.

I love the team, but it does sit at the back of my mind that this sort of play is going to be hard to maintain going into the playoffs. Hell, the Phillies last year experienced the same thing. It's just hard to be the best team in the league and then continue that success into the playoffs. That being said, they are streaking on a horrid power play (though it's come around the past two games) and even if they don't make a move at the deadline, Chris Kreider is right around the corner, waiting to be signed once BC's season is done.

As a Flyers fan that is my take as well. If I were a Rags fan I'd hope for a not-quite-too-long slump and a re-revving by playoff time. The regular season dynamos rarely carry it all the way through to a championship.

They said that in 1994 too.

There is a reason Torts teams always have injury problems. They've been pretty lucky so far this season.

There is also a reason a Torts team won the Stanley Cup. Say what you want about his system but you cant deny that the Rangers are a very well conditioned team. People were talking about how Ryan Callahan was "looking tired" and "needs a rest" yet shortly after he begins a hot streak scoring 6 goals in 5 games (4 of them being on a struggling Powerplay).

Sure, they've been lucky not to get injured but they've proven they're a very serious contender yet people still continue to doubt them. It's all good though b/c like I said, people did the same thing in 1994. ;)

I am not interested in nash i think were gonna have to give up to much to get him. Hes a good player but hes more of just a name if you ask me, I don't want. 7.8 for a 65 point player

Rangers have "dropped out of the race"

Nash is a 30-goal, 65-point player only in the worst season of his career, on the worst team in the league; he's proven he can do better, and he brings more on the ice than just what he puts in the net.

That's not to say the Rangers should risk hurting their team to get him in New York, but it's ridiculous to suggest that Nash wouldn't be a huge asset.

Ditto Paul Maurice, except he'd been pushing his luck right up to the moment he got fired.

The Rangers are absolutely not a well-conditioned team. They are a group of extremely capable athletes who are being badly handled by a coach who actually takes pride in refusing to listen to reason. He may be right that babying players sets a bad precedent, but that mind-over-matter crap gets old when you're playing around a hernia. It assumes that the players aren't serious professionals who know their own bodies and rely on expert diagnosis. He may be a good motivator, and he may know patterns, but that doesn't mean he isn't horribly misguided in other areas.

What I flat out don't understand is why he applies the rationale to resting goalies that he refuses to consider with his players.

As for Nash, it depends on the price. If the Rangers have to gut their lineup to get him, it would be stupid. If they can swing a deal that doesn't rip their roster open, in which they maybe mortgage a bit of their future for a huge piece in a Cup run this year, that's a reasonable thing to do.

They said that in 1994 too.

They also said that in 1991, when they won the President's Trophy, then lost in 6 in the second round.

Chadd is looking at the situation as an impartial outsider. YOU are looking at the situation as a Rangers fanboy, with blue colored glasses. Maybe, just maybe, your fanaticism is slightly skewing your view of the facts?

Torts doesn't force them not to be treated. I'm assuming you are referring to his comments from 24/7, but that was just his opinion. If he was to actually (have the authority) to act on that opinion, Wolski wouldn't have missed most of the season, Eminger wouldn't have been out for his shoulder, etc. Professional teams do not yield their entire training staff to their coach, if a player is diagnosed with an injury, it's up to the player/trainers to make the decision, Tort's isn't special and doesn't control this sort of thing. He said himself he doesn't talk to the players when they can't play, just waits for them or the trainer to give him the okay and takes it from there.

I'm also not sure what your point is about "extremely capable athletes." The difference between that and being well conditioned is only semantics.
