Self Drilled Holes

Recommended Posts

i was planning to, and i started a thread about this. the popular consensus is that, no, it will not affect the durability if you space them out reasonably, and it won't reduce the performance of your skates

Just drill 5 holes in a cross pattern using a 5/32" drill bit in the center and you'll be fine. Try to get the bit as short as possible so that you don't go and hit the holder.

should the sides of the holes be sealed or anything like that?

the sole in my 8090's seem pretty skinny (widthwise), JR, how did you manage to drill 5 holes in yours (maybe a pic please :D )?

EDIT : asdfa posting on a friends account by accident

sweat that accumulates in your boot will drip out of the holes, keeping you drier and lighter, as well as lessening the amount of breakdown in your boot by reducing the amount of sweat.
