Grip Tape

Recommended Posts

This probably shouldn't go here but I have a friend who works for the caps and picked up some grip tape from their locker-room, this tape was different and more durable than the run of the mill grip tape I pick up at my local pro-shop. Does anyone have any idea what kind this could be, it didn't say anything on the inside of the roll, but I used it and liked it a lot any help would be appreciated.

Its probably the cohesive gauze tape. I have some rolls of the same stuff and like it more than the regular grip gauze tape. The cohesive I have is thinner, less stretchable, less grippy, and yeah, more durable. Not all the hockey sites online have it, but there's a guy on eBay that sells it for a good price. Just look for hockey gauze tape on eBay and you'll find it.

^ Just placed an order for a few rolls off the guy from eBay. Will let you know how it is. I love the normal renfrew grip tape, I just recently started using it again and forgot how much I loved it. It had torn a hole straight through my eagle gloves which is why I stopped using it when I got my Franchises. But, started to use it again and have no regrets.

My experience, Tacki-Mac is the best solution for glove wear. Also give you unbeatable grip and reliability.

Thanks, I will look into this. I don't want to have to re-palm my gloves every year.

Tacki-mac is the best thing out there for grip. Love the Kane grips - just wish they had knobs. But I'm getting used to not having one.

Here is where you can buy it in bulk and save a lot.

It makes a great grip, but you need to change it out as soon as it starts to get threadbare (when the rubbery coating starts to wear off the cross-threads). This condition can lead to premature wear on the gloves. Don't try to conserve it or you will be disappointed in its performance.
