Superfeet

Recommended Posts

I know Hockey Tron doesn't honor that return policy so I've been stuck with one size too small SF for the past 6 months. I know, I'm a lazy one. I figure in 3 months it'll be time for a new set and I'll get the right size this time.

Can't you send it direct to the manufacturer if the retailer won't give you a refund? It doesn't seem that a manufacturer's promise or policy should be dependent on a retailer.

Like I said, I'm pretty lazy. Plus, it's not too bad. Especially if I go barefoot instead of socks. Even with an ill fitting SF it has helped me tremendously more than the stock insole.

I swear by my superfeet... they have eliminated foot ache and lower back aches too. I bought the size of my skates.. trimmed EXACTLY like the reebok insoles and they fit perfectly.

I read that Superfeet give heel support, in which way? I just started using CCM U+Pros and still getting used to them (only used 2 times) but since I started using them, I have a pain in my heels when I walk sometimes. I don't feel anything when im using them, but feel a stabbing pain on the inside edge of my heels sometimes when I walk (pronation?). Im assuming the pain is related to the new skates, but i'm curious to see if the superfeet will help. the pain is more on my right foot which is alittle bigger than left, and if this means anything, when im upright and skating my toes feel alittle jammed but when im skating (skating position, knees bent) my toes retract from toe cap possibly just feathering if that(i can't recall if i can still feel the toe cap). could this be putting unwanted pressure on the bottom edge of heel?

They cradle your heel, and raise it up slightly. This will also pull your toes back a little bit in your skate.

The heel support is basically created by the "cupping" action of the heel cup. It tries to keep your foot in line with your ankle/leg.

In regards to your pain issue, you could try Superfeet, but I cant guarantee that they'll help for your situation (though, see money back guarantee above).

You might need a bit of punching out in the heel area, especially if you have haglunds, heel spurs or a really pronounced heel.

I wouldn't really look at punching until you've worn the skates a few more times, unless its really bothering you. You don't want to create unnecessary room.

You can also check inside the boot or for a defect in the factory insole that is causing the pressure/pain.

Thanks Davetronz, i don't know if punching out the heel will help because i don't feel it when i have the skates on, and its more toward the bottom edge of heel that touches the ground 1st when i walk. I think i might try the superfeet if they do kinda cup the heel, and if it pulls my feet back alittle, i think that might help alittle too. I don't have haglunds and I don't feel heel moving (I do have to crank top laces down to secure my ankle) possibly a heel spur? but slight pain after 1st use so i doubt it. Going to skate on the again tonight, maybe pick up superfeet if LHS has them.

Another question, if these skates turn out to not fit correctly, will I be able to take already cut superfeet and use in different skate? I measured the stock footbed and my toes are at the edge of footbed, about perfect....

Yeah, you should be able to use the Superfeet in another pair of skates, pending they are a very similar size. But if they're sliding around or there's a gap you should get a new set of Superfeet. If they're too big in the new skates, just re-cut them.

What do you guys think about the break-in time for them? I have relatively small feet (7EE in NXGs), and though I love the feeling of the skates I get with SF in, I do feel some pain on the inside part of my feet between the heel and ball of my foot (right where the arch support is).

From what I've read in this thread, maybe I need the next size up of SF? I've had my NXGs with the SF in for a couple months now, and skate 3+ times a week.
