Warrior Projekt Shin Pads

Recommended Posts

Have noticed that all shops, including LHS and on-line sites, seem to show the Warrior Projekt shin pads at heavily discounted prices. Does this indicate a replacement or discontinuing of this line?

How protective are the Projekts, considering the cut-away format of the plastic shell? Also, does anyone know if the Projekts are significantly lighter than the Warrior Franchise pads?

The new Projekt protective line was on display at Winterfest so yes the current models will be replaced in the spring. The differences I noticed are a removable liner, the knee flap is smaller, the knee cap shape is tweaked and the graphics package is updated. Other than that the shins seemed similar to the current model.

I have the current model and don't have any complaints as far as protection is concerned. I find them comfortable, light and protective.

I moved from vapor 40 to Projekt after joining a competitive B league team. Have taken some big shots off them with no issues. These may be the best shins I've worn.

My only complaint is some poor stitching which I fixed easily enough as well as lack of removable padding.

Another thing I noticed in the Projekts is that you may have to move down a size in them since the liner at the very bottom of the pad extends a bit further down the pad and is composed of HD foams which would conceivably add additional length to it.

I went from 14" RBK 4k to 15" Projekts. I was looking for something slightly longer that wouldn't wear on the top eyelet of my new skates.

I saw some loose stitching, like Danno25nh, but nothing significant. Comfort, weight, and protection are all great for my beer leagues. If they're discounted now, I might buy a backup pair.
