DLC Blade Coating

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried this? http://cgi.ebay.com/...em=150746673059 Spoke with the rep and below is his response.

I have reviewed the blackEdge link which you have sent.

While it is not us we offer the same technology. We have been applying the

DLC coating for many applications including car racing applications,

udnerwater oil pipeline valves and many others, with most widely used

cutting tools.

There is no secret really with BlackEdge - it is DLC.

The item you have been watching is relisted.

For best results:

a.. Surfaces need to be free of burrs, grind burns, scale and rust oxide.

b.. Grinding lines on all primary surfaces and relief angles should be

faint or absent.

c.. The smoother the finish the better the results will be on longevity

and finish

d.. We Do not: apply over other coatings (TiN,TiCN,TiAlN, CrN etc). Hard

chrome is acceptable.

Plus, the black edge DLC on hockey runners is patented, so one wouldn't want to go there.

BTW, I've priced DLC for my guns and it is very costly. I would venture to say, if one thought they could send runners to be coated, it's not going to be cheaper than buying a set of Black Edges.

Hello, I work with Step Skates. We are now offering Goldsteel and BlackSteel. Both are coated runners. GoldSteel: Ceramic based Titanium coating. Blacksteel: DLC coating. Both are coated on a V-Steel surface wich is a upgrade.
