Bauer 5100 Helmet

I currently wear a RBK 6k that's about 14 months old, the padding is starting to come loose and feels rock hard so I am contemplating shopping for a new lid. My question is has anyone here worn or have the Bauer 5100? If so what are your thoughts? I couldn't find much in terms of reviews on here and only a handful over on hockeymonkey.com

I had a 6k also and just recently got a 5100. To keep it short, it is a great helmet for the price and padding wise it I can't see it breaking down. The 5100 is my go to helmet now even tho the 6k was a great and comfortable helmet. Will be testing it out for the first time tonight!

The 5100 is deep and wide like the 6K, but is slightly narrower than the 6K in the areas above the temple.

I use a 5100 and found it less tight on the temples than any other helmet I tried, except the 4500. It's handled some whiplash impacts for me when I landed on my back, and protected me fine.

I have 1 in White and 1 in Black. Out of the VP helmets and not trying the new and improved helmets coming out yet, by far my favorite helmet. Deep. Excellent fit. No complaints and they hold up JUST fine.

I replaced an old Bauer helmet with the 5100 & I love it. It feels a tad cooler than my old helmet (I think it was a 4000) due to the extra vent hole on the top. I like the flip up tabs for adjusting it too, as opposed to the screws on my old helmet. IF it fits your head well, I think it would be a solid helmet purchase.

Look for the 9500 if you can find it on sale, very comfortable helmet, or the 9900. FYI, the 9900 is wider, so if you are a large in the other Bauer models, you might be a medium in the 9900.

5100 is a great helmet, very protective and a good price. I recommend it over the more expensive models.

Only issue is, and this has been common of bauer of a whole, my Itech/bauer visor sits very close to my face.

If it fits you it's one of the best bang for your buck helmets out there. I've had mine for about a year and with the exception of some scratches, it looks and fits the same way it did when I took it out of the box. The padding has stayed the same consistency, no problems with pads coming unglued, the adjustment clips are very durable, overall it's a great lid.
