Radulov....

If any GM even breathes a word of wanting this guy back in the NHL...he needs to be taken out back and beaten within an inch of his life.

So now the Preds lose Radulov, Suter, Parize, probably Kostitsyn and maybe Weber if someone tries to sign him to a offer sheet. But they signed Hal Gill!!

So what was Radulov's plan with all of this? Come to the NHL for the rest of the year and hope a team in the KHL offers him a ton of money to lure him back to the KHL?

It's hard to fault anyone for wanting to play hockey in their home country. Especially when they get an offer for that much tax free money.

The Preds didn't have Parise.

You're right, my bad. Will blame it on all the media hype of yesterday's signings.

Chadd: You certainly can't the guy for wanting to play home but not sure that it was his real motivation to sign back in the KHL. Seems to me, and I may be wrong, but seems to me like his stint in the NHL was well planned and that he knew that a team in the KHL would come back and offer him very good money to come back, the kind of dough he probably wouldn't be able to get in the NHL, at least not just yet. He seems to me like a very selfish player who's had everything planned from the beginning. Like I said, I may be wrong but it just looks that way to me.

can someone tell me how the predators "lost" parise?

radulov's plan was that the KHL season was over, the nhl team he was under contract with was looking pretty strong for the playoffs, and everyone involved thought his services would put them over the top. as i mentioned above, the situation enabled him to burn up the final year of his NHL deal and make a run for the cup, become a free agent and, depending on his worth in the playoffs, potentially make huge coin on a new deal. well, he got an internal suspension, ridiculed by the entire league and media and his team got bounced... so he went back.

You'll be hard pressed to find anybody feeling sorry for Radulov. Number one, he showed just how much of a team player he was when he left for the KHL even though he had a legitimate contract with the Preds. Then he sees the opportunity to burn the last year of his contract by playing less then 10 games and asks to be taken back by the Preds. They finally agree after consulting Weber and pretty much the rest of the team. He plays his games, gets to the playoffs and he thanks his teammates, his coach and GM by partying till the wee hours of the night. Then the Preds play hard ball with him and AK, they lose the round and he jolts right back to the KHL. He was hoping to strick it rich by pulling a quick one on the NHL by coming back. Instead, he shot himself in the foot and painted himself in a corner with his teammates, coach, GM and probably the rest of the league having lost what little respect anyone might have had for him.
