Need help to find what stick I have in my hand !

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm gonna try to do my best here to explain what happen and why I need your help. I'm a hockey coach but in the summer I play Deck Hockey. 3 weeks ago, I finish my game and found a stick. Was the last person to leave so unable to ask if someone have forgot is stick.

I've start to play with it and OMG, love the stick so much I can't believe that. So I would love to buy another one or something similar with the same blade pattern. But... Here the reason why I need your help.

The stick have no trademark on it, no sticker, no flex, nothing. The stick is all black. Look like coming out like this. No one have put paint on it. So I would love to find what kind of stick it is. I took 3 pictures, maybe that can help. If you need more. Ask me.

Some person say maybe it's Innovative stick of the first Warrior to came out.

After checking the Warrior Blade Pattern, I found that Kopitar is similar.

So, here the pics and thanks for the help if you are able.

If theres no serial numbers or any sort of identification numbers anywhere on the stick, its going to be next to impossible to identify. The blade looks like it has taken a beating though! maybe the player meant to toss it out? Cant you just ask your buddies whos stick it is next game and maybe that person will have an answer

The blade weave looks something similar to a pro stick with g3 construction or the old ccm vector v110 v100, v120 sticks.

Hard to tell from just one photo, but the pattern looks similar to a Drury/Parise (P91A with Bauer, Kovalev with Warrior). Doesn't look exactly the same, seems that it starts to open up a touch later (doesn't look like a true wedge), and looks like it has maybe a touch more mid and a touch less heel. Sort of looks like a mid way point between a Drury and a Sakic (the Kopitar curve you mentioned is a Sakic clone), but to me it looks a bit closer to a Drury.

As for the stick itself, who knows, TONNES of sticks have used a similar weave to that. I'm far from a carbon fibre expert, but that looks like a 3K weave, weaves like that used to dominate the market, though recently there seem to be more and more 12K weaves. I believe Base either do an all black stick, or used to do an all black stick, and they use a weave like that, maybe it's a Base? Could also be some random sample/prostock/whatever, or it could simply have been spray painted (since the shaft looks like a very fresh paint job, while the blade looks super worn, this is my guess, I'll bet the last owner spray painted it fairly recently).

That why I ask. If I can find at least the curve. I can choose another stick and love to play with.

I ask a lot of person in the league to find the stick and no one know.

For sure it's not Kovalev, I got one and is not similar.

the stick have nothing on it, no serial number, nothing. And for the blade... I play Deck hockey so yeah, take a couple of beating :P

It will be next to impossible to identify the manufacturer if there are no markings. There are a number of chinese manufacturers who make sticks like this and there is someone on eBay now selling sticks that look like this. You could try taking the butt cap off and have a look inside the shaft, there might be a manufacturers label there.

Looks like the BH23 curve on the base website.

Are there white circles on each side of the shaft at the bottom near the blade? I can't tell from the pictures because the circles would be on the sides of the shaft that aren't shown in the pictures. Unless they have changed things, all of the BASE sticks, including the Black Ops, have the white circles on the shaft.

Have you tried rubbing some Goof Off or acetone on it to see if the paint comes off? If it is spray painted, the paint should come off and reveal the manufacturer's branding underneath.

I remove the top and can't see nothing inside the stick

No circle near the blade or anywhere else.

Acetone on the stick and nothing appear.

So, I'm gonna go to a store today with my stick and compare with the Bauer Staal Blade.

I know that it will be almost impossible to find the same stick, but would love so much to have the same curve and the Staal seem to be identical.

It could be a knock-off or an older sample from an established company. I know back a little ways that at least one company would keep some of their samples blank.

Just came back from Source For Sports and after 1h, we found that the Staal is the blade. We look and we found that the stick is a pro stock because he have the same pattern as Easton but the Blade of Staal.

Thanks to all, very appreciate :)

Now that that's answered, can I thread-jack a bit?

What stick is this? It says Warrior, obviously, but I can't find anything about a Grand Master. It feels relatively light and has an obvious fuse point. The weave on the blade looks similar to Dolo's I've seen.

SMU product for a retailer. Don't think it's SFS but I could be wrong.

"Pro Stock, No Warranty" is stamped on the back, though.

Added: It feels pretty close to a Dolo. I may throw a blade in it just for dirt, but it'll likely end up as a chair.

If I were to guess, it could be a European-only product or one of those things like TPS where they say it's PS. Don't know though, it's intriguing.
