43%burnt 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 completely destroyed my left knee two years ago this fall. totally severed my acl and tore my mcl almost all the way. had to have a cadaver acl placed in and thankfully the mcl healed almost all on its own. i'm just now getting it back to where it was before. i think there's still a problem with my mcl. and just for the hell of it. here are pics of my killed knee from the inside (its not pretty). this is what happens when you slam into the boards and have your leg bend a way its not made to:http://www.everybodyswhore.com/43burnt/hate1.jpghttp://www.everybodyswhore.com/43burnt/hate2.jpghttp://www.everybodyswhore.com/43burnt/hate3.jpghttp://www.everybodyswhore.com/43burnt/hate4.jpg

ambro 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I've never been seriously hurt at all until this season's last game. I got hit from behind on a cheap shot when the puck was like 10 feet away from me and got a mild concussion and a really bad knee contusion.
mack 44 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 The mother of all concussions; kept me out of school for a semester, let alone hockey.

LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Hockey-wise, it's just been a few moderate concussions and 20 stitches. Sports-wise, I tore every ligament in my right knee playing basketball. And I tore my mcl playing volleyball along with breaking my talus (ankle bone). Breaking my talus was probably the worst injury. Just because of the way it happened. There was so much force on my ankle from my ligament while I was jumping, that it actually cracked my ankle where the ligament attaches to it. It hurts like all hell and doesn't heal for 18 to 24 months.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Playing hockey:Pulled my hammy so badly last year that it still bothers me at times.Overall:Not really an injury but I wore away 95% of the cartilage under my kneecap, If I run for more than 10 minutes the bones rub together in my knees and I can walk for a couple of hours. Part genetic, part basketball related.

Chadd 916 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I was thinking of checking into the treatment that Benito Santiago got a couple years ago. The one where they put a gel under your kneecap.

Guest phillyfan Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I've been fortunate enough to remain unscathed, even after I jynxed myself earlier on this forum. The worst I have substained would be 2 torn ligaments in my ankle, my skate got caught in the bottom of the net somehow and i went flying and twisted in the air, it hurt. Also, had an ordinary check put into me along the boards skating up, penalty door wasn't closed so I flew in there, my helmet popped up and I cut my head pretty bad on the hinge, few liquid stitches stopped most of the bleeding.
