Stiffest Roller Skates

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Im looking for something to replace my Mission Lieutenants in the near future. They are starting to get a little soft on me. Im trying to find something comparable to my ice skates which are fuel 95 xps. Will I be able to do this with stock roller skates or will I have to do ice to inline conversion?

Well im going to go ahead, be picky and contradict myself here but im not on a limitless budget. Im looking mainly closeout skates. I was looking at the t9's because they are cheaper then most high end roller skates. I did see the EQ50's for around $270 which is pretty darn cheap for that level skate. Say however we add on comparable components of the t9(swiss bearings, magnesium chassis, highend wheels) it comes out to about $530 without the mounting fee. Would you say its worth the extra money for the ice boot or just take the easy way and get the roller boot with the chassis already mounted.

t9's are a great boot and if you can get a pair on sale then you are looking around $350. Whilst they aren't the stiffest boot around, they hold up well. Put the extra money in your pocket and save yourself the hassle.

Alright well I called my LHS. The manager told me ice conversions were a waste of money and asked me why I wanted an Easton boot. I told him because they relatively wide boots and he just laughed and said no way then suggested I try the vapor line. Then he tried telling me that the skates im in are the wrong size stating that older missions are a size and a half down from your shoe size, actually he said "all skates are a size and a half down, they are made in canada and have been ffor years" I promptly hung up and came here. :end rant:

So coming from 10.5 ee pre bauer mission LT's. How is the fit on the EQ50 Line. Just realized hockeymonkey has a sale and I can get a complete set for $419

Iv been skating on my T9s for just over 4 months now and they are extremely light weight and very stiff. After just over 4 months of use 5 days a week they have lost little if any of their stiffness. Id go for the t9s you can get them on clearance for a steal right now too.

I don't know. I am a 10.5 EE in pre-bauer missions. From the charts, it's saying I would be a 9-9.5. I have looked at hockey monkey and they have neither.

Much appreciated dude. Quick question though. How much do you weigh and how hard are you on the skates? I'm just trying to make sure they can handle someone my size (240lbs). I know they can for a little while but im trying to get skates that'll last me.

I weigh 150lbs and im a fairly aggressive skater. I stop and start alot and I skate pretty hard. Plus Im on my skates 5 nights a week and they have help up great so far. They should be fine for a person your size, depending on how often you skate and how aggressively you skate.

You will need a 9 - 9.5 in today's range (or a 9.5 - 10 if you were looking at Alkali or RX60's).
