flyweightphantom 1 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 This may be a ridiculous question but i went from x60 to apx and get horrible lacebite on my right skate only. Now im not sure if its due to the stiffness of the skate or volume. They do seem to have a little less volume compared to me x60. So i took my footbed out just to see and it took a lot of pressure off the lacebite spot. Are there really thin footbeds i can try or am i just dreaming here? Do those apx footbeds have a built-in arch like other Bauer footbeds that I've seen? The stock footbeds in my Flexlites were around 3-4mm thicker in the arch area than at the heel and forefoot. If that's the case with the apx footbeds, finding a uniformly thin footbed might make a big difference.
flyweightphantom 1 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 I mean chadd is right they are pretty thin as it is. I guess you can say there is a mild arch built in if you even want to call it that.
Davetronz 109 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 Try lacing outside-in instead of inside out. See if that makes a difference.
giogolf 9 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 I once traced my original foot bed out of thin leather, the added a small arch pad and it worked great in my Misson inline skates. Removed just enough volume to make them comfy.BTW you may need double stick tape on the leather footbed so doesnt bunch up. Get your hands on some golf club regripping tape its the thickness of masking tape.

strosedefence34 179 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 Does that actually help?yes it helped me. It takes some of the pressure off. I then got a bunga pad and went back to lacing inside out.
Davetronz 109 Report post Posted February 25, 2013 Does that actually help?Quite a bit actually! You can even do that lacing pattern in specific problem areas, and do regular lacing in the rest.It gets confusing when lacing and unlacing the skates, but it's a world of difference for me.
