CCM RBZ or REEBOK 20K

Recommended Posts

Time for a new stick. I have been using easton eq50 which I liked. I tried a mako and just did not like the feel. I narrowed my choices to the RBZ or the 20K. Never played with either but liked the feel of both. I read the reviews on the RBZ. Could not find much on the 20K. Any thoughts or suggestions? I take most wrist & snap shots

I have had both and have to say that I perfer the RBZ over the 20k. Shooting is more my game and the RBZ shot lazers. Somthing about it just made shooting special. The 20k was ok but nothing more or nothing less, really average. The blade chipped withn the first month or so and never really got a good or positive feel for it. My only negitive comment about the RBZ would have to be the shaft is a bit square for my liking. Thats it. Id say RBZ 1 20K 0.

Only thing I liked on the 20k is the dual grip.

If ur gonna spen the money I'd check the apx, covert dt-1, widow, dynasty ax1 and nexus. All real good.

Your experience is more extensive than mine, but after shooting for some time with both on dryland, I have the opposite feeling in that I think that the RBZ feels unremarkeable, and the 20K has a much more pleasant load and release.

Based on the fact that you liked the eq50, shooting wise I'd recommend the rbz since the mechanics of no kickpoint is closer to the midkick the eq50 has while the 20k is a super low kickpont, not better or worse, just different, but if you're looking for something that won't take too much time to get used to, rbz def has the edge regarding the shaft construction.

That being said, the blade of the eq50 is great for control, the blade is not pingy at all and it has been one of the best ops in my regards when making and catching passes. Rbz on the other hand has the reputation of having a really pingy blade so that may be tough to adjust to.

All in all, if you liked the Eq50, I'd recommend the totalone or the nexus 1000 over the rbz or 20 k for that matter, I'd throw the Miken ZL in the list as well, but if adidas is your only option, have the rbz.

Also, how could you like the feel if you have never played with them?

EQ50 is a tapered stick with a low kick point, not a mid kick like the nexus or non-tapered RBZ.

Neither! Save your money and wait for the new reebok ribcor. I shot one a while ago...It was nicer than the 20k or the rbz through and through.

*Edit: Complete opinon, I however am in love with my rbz right now.

Thanks for the info. As for liking the feel of the 20K and the RBZ, whithout having played with them it was only from handling them the in the store. That's why I posted this topic so I could get some feedback from others who have used those sticks, before spending a large sum of money. I did play with the orignal Mako and it just did not seem the same to me as the EQ50 or even an SE16.

My son has the RBZ coming from the original Mako. He loves the RBZ and shoots rockets with it, mosly quick release snappers and wrist shots. I was worried that the puck feel would be diminished and the blade too pingy for his liking, but he adapted quickly and has never shot, passed, or handled the puck better. I would have thought the new Mako II to be better for him, but he did not like it as much when he tested all these. He mentioned that he likes the boxier feeling of the RBZ shaft as well.

My RBZ was excellent initially but lost its pop very quickly before the blade went. Recently tried the Mako II and was very impressed. Went with the 100 over my typical 85 and I'm glad I did, however

I normally use Easton sticks, so when my son got a Mako II in an 85 flex, the same flex I normally use also. I tried it, it felt way too whippy. would have to go with a 100 flex. Easton sticks seem to have changed or gone down in quality recently - not to my liking

How does it compare to the APX (not the new one)

I can only comment on the 20K since I've never used the rbz, so I apologize in advance if this isn't helpful

Pros: Durability has been great for me, thing is a tank. Dual grip takes a bit to get used to, but its nice. Good puck feel.

Cons: Little hard to load compared to say a DT1 or and RSII.

Thats all I got, also an 85flex feels more like a 95.
