Repairing Tackla Pants

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where you can find the elastic webbing that goes in the inseam to tackla hockey pants? The inseam webbing in my pants is wearing out (ripping with holes in it) My local leather repair store said they could replace I could find the webbing. I have been to several area sewing type stores with no success.

If you're going to have it replaced anyway, cut a piece out and take it to a couple fabric stores until they find something similar.

I have widened the legs in hockey pants many times with regular hockey jersey material and it has worked great. It's durable, flexible, and breathable. Obviously you need to get a jersey that matches the pant color and large enough to cut the width/length that you need for the repair. It's pretty easy to find an old jersey in your closet or a blank practice jersey from a shop. If it's too thin, you can use double thickness.

Or most fabric shops sell mesh...
