mainemoose97 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Has anyone heard of a new stick from easton called the v9e vt? Here is a link to pure hockey's post about it https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151903212213850&set=a.392319928849.170548.83778048849&type=1&theater just wondering if anyone else had heard anything? Gefiltefish 9 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Pure hockey does this from time to time releasing SMU sticks. Mainly with more price-point sticks ($100-$150 range). Surprised they are doing it with the top end line. Last time I remember them doing that was with the S19 Pure (I think Pure Hockey was the only one to sell the retail version and the only difference was the color). mainemoose97 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 ya i remember the pure s19 i like the look of this v9e more than the original the neon orange is too flashy for me
Tyler Roy 86 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 PH wanted to do a stick that would look very much like an older model synergy. The VT stands for *velocity triple* and that makes reference to the grip that is on the stick. I heard a few different ideas regarding this stick and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Picture doesn't show the full stick so its tough to ask what everybody thinks but what was your first impression? I think this will cater very well for the players that find the orange too loud or flashy.
Gefiltefish 9 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Their comment from Facebook on "All kinds of cool enhancements." is what intrigues me. Have they made changes to the V9E other than the color? Hmmm...Some of the mid-price sticks they have done have had slight changes in the specs of the stick. For instance, their Easton M4 stick uses a lower end stick as a starting off point (M3 I think???) and adds features (sharkskin coating on the blade, shaft texture, etc) from the M5 and Mako to complete the stick. Krev 86 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Releasing in Novemeber only at Pure Hockey. V9E stick with graphics celebrating the 15 year anniversary of composite sticks. 3 different finishes, gloss into grip into matte from top to bottom w/Sharkskin finish blade. Original Synergy silver with SL blue accents. Has the original Synergy name bar. This will only come in E3 and E36 as of now. 75/85/100 Flex.Disappointed in curve selection, but most popular makes sense from a business standpoint. Gefiltefish 9 Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Love the look. And think the grip changes would be interesting. Good job Pure Hockey. Just wish it was a V9 - haha.
Tyler Roy 86 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 Curve selection is tough. PH wants to bring in what sells the best so they wont have random 110 flex E4 curves left over later but from a customers stand point its always nice to have a larger selection. Graphic wise I think this looks killer, what if PH did the V9 as a different vintage Easton stick? I wouldn't mind having a first gen synergy grip gold color V9. That would be pretty sick. Tyler Roy 86 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 I made the early jump and incorrectly said what that was. I was under the impression from what I was told being "vintage" but the triple grip was a addition to the stick after I heard about it. The triple grip is something PH used on a prior LE or PHcustom stick, the NexusLE stick features this grip too. From what I read on PHEW, VT stands for "Velocity Triple," as in three types of shaft coating (gloss, grip, and matte). A2rhino 76 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 In the picture above this seems to be more a flat grey color than what I reemeber my original Synergy looking like. I thought it was a bit more silver.Would love to see a Brett Hull Metal Matrix color shaft.
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 The second generation Synergy has the more silver coloring that I think you are remembering.
A2rhino 76 Report post Posted October 9, 2013 What year did the first model come out? I remember getting mine in I want to say 2001. Got a 100 flex Yzerman from Scoffs hockey shop up in I believe Burnaby B.C. All the Sakics were gone. Picked that up with a pair of Graf 705's.

I'm willing to bet that's simply the lighting, although the OG Synergy did seem to have more of a pop with the metallic flake in the silver. The second generation Synergy has the more silver coloring that I think you are remembering.Correct. The initials Synergys had the darker charcoal silver that only lasted for a short time because Easton found that it didn't show up as well as they'd have liked on TV... hence the change to the brighter silver.
