Compression pants w/o cup

Recommended Posts

Got a pair of compression pants with a jock/cup included awhile back. Loved the pants, but found the cup moved far too much when playing, leaving me exposed for pucks to get in. I ditched the cup and used the pants with a regular jock strap/ cup with great results. Pants are falling apart now, and wondering if any companies make pants w/o jock/ cup but with Velcro pads to hold socks up. Could buy a pair like I have and ditch the cup again, but thought there might be a cheaper option as I don't need the jock/ cup.

I use last year's model of the Shock Doctor compression pants, with cup, with some nice padding that you do not notice (but may dissipate some collision energy), which has the velcro for the socks. I love them- the cup stays tight and close and never moves. The pant review starts at 3:55 or so. I wear the long pants, which are something like model 582- they are not enough for inline, as this guy claims- (maybe enough to ref inline)- I took two weak shots off my thighs (of course the pucks missed the pads) and had these ugly bruises for 8 days or so:

I wear a pair of UA compression hockey pants under the Bauer mesh jock shorts. The mesh shorts have velcro on them and you don't really notice that you are wearing an extra layer

I second the Shock Doctor compression pants with the padding referenced by Cosmic above. Never had a problem with cup movement. I'm not sure whether the padding does anything, but it doesn't hurt. I am actually considering buying a second pair since it appears they aren't being made anymore, and they are now about half what I paid for them. The sticky stuff to keep the shin guards in place is also a nice feature.
