Easton rs skates

Recommended Posts

I have been searching and shopping for a new pair of skates for about a month and have it down to about three different skates that are pretty close to my fit. The rs is a lot more comfortable but the heel is not quite as locked as the bauer one.8 but the bauer pinches more forefoot pretty good. The third skate is the ccm crazy lights however I haven't been able to try those on but I currently am in a lower end ccm that is working well.

My question is what is the highest quality boot? The RS is a top of the line skate right? Just looking at it it feels less stiff and no better than the one.8. Also will the heel lock improve after a bake. Its not that bad on any of them it's just the best with the supreme. The prices are all about the same I just don't want to drop $400 and make a mistake.

You might get a better wrap with baking, but I have never had luck with baking giving me a better heel lock. It might work for you, but most probably itll make the pocket even wider, and itll only get worst over time.

Not likely to be helped with a bake. If it's the wrong shape, it's the wrong shape.

If you're happy with your current CCMs then I'd get those. At the very least (assuming you haven't tried them on because you don't have them available locally) you can order, and try them on at home and see how they feel. A $20 mistake for return shipping is better than a $400 mistake.

Also consider you can get the forefoot stretched in the vapors, if it's just that area that is uncomfortable.

Which is awesome but i can't try them on first. The ones I have are a little wide as we'll. the crazy lights to me seem like the best deal but nobody around me has them.

I'm also looking at some CLs and one of the reviews I've seen on youtube shows a dude who has a narrow foot, claiming he'd heard that CLs are said to be able to form to any foot. He had a skinny foot and said the boots were a bit on the wide size but said that after a bake they fit him real snug. i'm almost willing to buy some without trying them on. Other people on here have suggested to me that I can email a store with my foot measurements and they'll be able to give me the right advice, maybe you could try that.

Stiffer doesn't mean better.

I've recently moved into a pair of RS and while there is plenty of volume in the forefoot the lace wrap provides a nice snug feel. Baking makes a huge difference.

I guess that's why I'm asking. If the rs is a better deal then I'm all for it. This is my second pair of ice skates so I'm researching like crazy. The wife will not be happy if I need new ones next year.

I JUST tried on Supreme One.7 and the RS(and a few others), I find the RS to have a narrower toebox(perfect for me- a lil wider than Vapors, slimmer AND shallower than the Supremes), and the forefoot seemed slightly narrower than the Supremes, I also felt the heel locked better than the Supremes (for me)as well.

There were (for me) the most comfortable skate that I tried on BY FAR(size6- usually wear "D" shoes), and it's all about the comfort for me.

Cha-ching....sold!

I haven't skated in them yet(had them baked, so I will tomorrow), but I've never put on a pair of skates this close to perfect right out of the box.
