mikeamato1980 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 Hey all. I'm getting ready to get new skates. It's between the Bauer x100 LE's and the Reebok 20k's. Both size 8D. The Reebok feels a little bigger and I'm told that the Reeboks have a wider boot and that's why they feel bigger. I like the Bauers but the boot is very stiff. I'm told that they will break in but that the boot will always be relatively stiff. Can anyone tell me their experience with either of these two skates. Thank you. Thank you. Most players of a higher skill level prefer a stiffer boot...in almost any skate line the higher you go in price the stiffer it gets. Its better for supprt. +1 for the bauers because I'm a bauer fan, the boot is more supportive and the x100's LE are the best looking boot ever

Monty22 835 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 Which ones fit your foot the best?
mikeamato1980 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 They both feel pretty good. Reeb is just a little bit more loose and comfortable. But I'm told baking the skates will make them fit tighter and wrap to my feet
Stryker 37 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 From everything I've seen with Bauer to Reebok comparisons, you could probably drop half a size in the Reeboks and still have them fit properly. I know most people I fit, and myself personally, have experienced the same thing.
mikeamato1980 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 I wear a size 8D in Bauer. You're saying that I would wear a 7.5 in Reebok?
thawu 5 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 Yeah, I'd give the 7.5 a try. I went from a 7D vapor to a 6.5D Reebok.
Kyle Friedman 9 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 If the vapor is comfortable on your foot, I would go with the x100s or look for last years apx on close out.The vapor is going to be more supportive and in my experience a better made boot than the reebok. Its also going to be slightly lighter and will likely last longer than the rebook without breaking down.I do love the lace-lock on the reeboks though so that is a plus if you go that route.Id go for the bauers though.-also on a side note I personally think the x100 le is a much better looking skate, if looks are a contributing factor in your decision that is. Mattc555 22 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 If the x100 is too stiff try the x90. Saves you money too.

Just get the skate that fits the best.
Precision 4 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 I used to own a pair of 11ks and now have x100s. My feet are definitely quicker in the vapors. Yes I've worn NXGs RBZs 11ks x90s too... its not just marketing. The reebok 20k skate will not last you like the bauer will. They break down much faster than a full composite boot in the x100 or apx
