What's wrong with my skate fit here

Recommended Posts

These are a size 6 vapor x4.0. My sneaker size is 8.5, dress shoe is 8. After baking length was fine. Can't tell if these aren't wide enough, not deep enough or both.

I've been using makos for the past two years or so and am ready for a new pair. Would like to go back to a more traditional skate. I'm thinking the vapor has the most similar pitch etc compared to makos. Just not sure they fit me right.

It doesn't look like they are too shallow but it's hard to see from those angles. There is the potential that it is the arch that is causing you problems.

I get the same sort of fit with my skates, and I wear EE. With or without my orthotics... I can't go up a size or they will be too long... I tend to get numb feet as well, and look the same unlaced.

I wear a 8 or so sneaker and previously had a size 8 skate (by accident) vapor. Heel was still too narrow for me. I now fit into a 6 supreme but probably could jump up to a 6.5

Could be a bunch of different reasons: arch, width, size, foot shape, etc.

The best thing you can do is eliminate as many options as possible. For your arch go to your LHS and see if they have the CCM foot sensor that diagnoses your arch type. If you don't have that, most walmarts have a dr scholls machine that can do this for you. A lot of hockey skates have a mid to high arch to accommodate more feet, ESPECIALLY bauer.

I have a flat foot and still need footbeds for supremes because of arch pain.

Width and size is pretty standard, take out your footbed. When standing up your toes should be brushing the toecap but not jammed. With your footbed out, stand on it and your largest toe should be a half inch to an inch away from the end.

Makos are one of the best hear moldable skates on the market. You may have to get the boot stretched if you passed all these tests. I would do that rather than buy a whole new skate to see where you are. If you need a wider size like an E or a different model.

On CCM footbed my arch is the normal type. I have a normal width foot. I am starting to think my instep is high for how small my feet are. Me in supremes vs vapor both 6

Maybe a high instep is why my foot busting out? I don't have pain, just cold feet. Feels like circulation is being cut off.

I have the same problem - high instep. The only solution for me was, believe it or not, the Easton Mako/Mako 2 which fit me perfect. Or you can also try VH skates.
