JR's rink, (well, its not his, but he sure does run a good pro shop) has been named one of the coolest rinks in the Unites States by American Hockey Magazine. Woo Hoo

Damn! I complimented him in another forum already. I'm kind of suprised that they don't have my rink on there. Its an old horse barn, it has giant pillars everywhere so you can't see the entire ice from the stands, the cooling system doesn't work, and its indebt to the country tens of thousands of dollars. That Idaho rink looks sweet. For all you LA guys, anyone else wonder why Disney Ice was on there and not Healthsouth? I've always thought Healthsouth was a much nicer facility.

The disney ice pro shop has good stuff as does the healthsouth location, but the disney ice people are more curtious and helpful.

You know that Hockey Giant bought out that store, right?

Nice rink JR, your rink is a far improvement over my local "warehouse" rink...

Ingalls Rink, Yale's rink, was also named. I had season tickets for a few years and I played there when I was younger. "To watch or play a game the is to become a part of hockey history" it says. I never thought it was that great, buy hey, guess I'm a part of "hockey history." :

BTW: JR's place looks NICE

i also didn't think ingalls was too cool, maybe cause it's "the whale" and shaped so differently. Thats where we play our state semi's and finals for hs, it's so cool.

Only problem I have with RDV is that we should've expanded on the Olympic rink - two sets of bleachers and we could've hosted the Seals' home games.

I haven't gotten AmericanHockey yet, and it comes in spurts for me anyway.

Were the rinks rated?

And any mention of my shop? :P

I'm 26.

:)

Anyway, I got it today - I was pretty disappointed - it was a press release basically. The other rinks, it sounded like someone reviewed them.

IT's cool though...we are one of the top 10 gyms in the US and one of the coolest rinks in the US...not bad at all!

AS I'm watching this Nashville game...I realized something...

The training camps we've hosted...Detroit in 98...Detroit in 02...both Cup winners...third time the charm? :)

LOL...no you don't...

Because the third team I'm talking about is Nashville!

They had their training camp here this year. Detroit only comes down here on Olympic years.

Keep in mind the reason why it was built was for a training facility for both of our pro teams (Magic/Solar Bears)

The Magic facility is just sick.

The Solar Bears' locker room is sick as well...it has the locker room, steam room, hot tub, showers, lounge, trainers' room and a small gym (bikes and such, but they're gone now)

The Nashville staff said that we had a better setup than they do.

Today, the locker room is currently used (unauthorized) by two guys - me and my boy (the ice guru) LOL...

Some people actually think I do...I told people I was not going in...but somehow I locked myself out of my house and I had to go to Costco which is by the rink so I swung by...lol people were like "Go home!"

What ended up happening was that I was locked out for 5 hrs, had to go to my sister's house to get the spare, then I get home and I can't find my keys (I have a detachable keychain, separates car from home) so I'm spending another 2 hrs looking for my house keys. I go to my car and I dig between the seats and find them...so I had them with me all along! I was pissed!
