Shopping for a New Stick

That's a really good idea actually, something the golf world has known about for a long time of course.

Just think how much better product might be if companies spent less time marketing and more time making good products and access to them????

Making a good product doesn't matter if you can't convince people it's a good product as well. It's cheaper just to market the hell out of something and convince people it's great.

For sure. Sadly Marketing works.

Can you share your experience with Bladder Molding and why it's better than Compression Molding? Is it more consistent?

What are your thoughts on companies that use several different factories to produce the entire product offering?

I would really like to know in your opinion what makes a better stick and why?

The first part is the reputation for performance, do you have confidence in the product?

The second part is if you find some something that fits your niche. Can you connect with it?

The final part is... Does it last? Do you get your monies worth?

I don't care about a stick fitting... You can apply simple logic based on trial and error and figure out what you need based on a little homework. CCM got me a warranty replacement in 4 days. Impressive bit guess what? 23 days later I received my Bauer warranty replacement and guess what stick has the starting job? You figure out what clicks based on trial and error and it costs money but once you get it you find out it was worth it.

Have you guys checked out Base hockey sticks? I've been directed to then by my coach and think I'll give them a try. They might have the combo you want for less than the bigger manufacturers.

Yep, my favourite sticks are the Base Supernatural.

i looked into base briefly and after paying for the fitting and the stick it was still the same as the big manufacturers or am i missing something? i guess after you know your specs it would be $50-$75 under the big guys.

i ended up breaking a stick so i couldn't wait for the lead time (and i'm super impatient) which is why i ultimately went another direction. i was in my LHS and decided to give True A6.0 a shot and its my favorite stick to date.

When I looked at the prices, it seemed like BASE was cheaper compared to the top-of-the-line Bauer/CCM sticks, but about the same price as the next level down. I think the real value in getting BASE sticks is if you want a custom flex/stick length and/or rare pattern.

Yeah pretty much I agree with that. I use shorter sticks so I need an intermediate length with a senior flex. Plus having a choice in lie, grip, blade finish and colour is always a nice bonus I guess.
