shoot_the_goalie 281 Report post Posted January 13, 2016 After getting tired of taking pucks to the feet/ankles, I'm looking into getting some skate fenders and had a question about fit/movement. I wear my shins over the tongue and I wear them pretty long...the bottom of the shin guard goes to about the 2nd eyelet down. Would skate fenders interfere/restrict some movement? I'm looking at the skate fender full pro (the compact pro would definitely get in the way), and it looks like the skate fender caps at top around the 3rd eyelet down. I'm concerned that the shin may keep banging into the fender, and I don't want to go with shorter shin guards. Thanks
beerleaguecaptain 999 Report post Posted January 17, 2016 I wear my shin over the tongue as well. Mine are not as long as yours but the top of the fender is fairly low. When I wear the skate fenders there is no impediment in that fashion. I think you should be fine.
syinx 139 Report post Posted January 18, 2016 Another good alternative are the Nash Skate Wraps, which can be heat modded to your skates and are cheaper than the fenders.
CB1 8 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 I've seen some pictures (on this board) of the pros using the extra skate protection. Are the flat ones the Nash product? Also wonder which is better, the ridged Skate Fenders or the flat protectors that follow the contour of your boot? I can see how the ridged ones can can dissipate impact (some), but do the contoured ones dissipate enough of the impact to really protect you?

flyers10 57 Report post Posted May 8, 2016 Anyone else used these newer Nash ones and have feedback on them and how they compared to skate fenders brand? Any US stores carrying them? Didn't see the majors stocking them.
