Vet88 674 Report post Posted April 3, 2016 Not surprised anymore, just continually amazed. The leading goal scorer (although Barkov may have something to say about this in the next few games) and the leading points scorer for the Panthers. More points than all the other players in your team combined. The oldest player in the NHL who just seems timeless and quite possibly, if he decides to stay on, could still be there when he hits 50. He is still one of the best players on the boards down low with the puck, his support play is superb and he still goes to those dirty areas where goals are scored and 260lb opposition defence players are trying to keep you out. Man, wait to you get to his age and see what happens to your motor, how each shift seems twice as long but you were only out there for half the time and your lungs and legs are burning, how it seems every player on the rink blows past you at twice your speed then watch as he just keeps changing his game to stay relevant and to continue to contribute at the very highest level of play IN TODAYS GAME. Said in the nicest possible way with the utmost respect, the guy is a freak. Watch and appreciate because it could be a long long time, if ever, that we see the likes of player like him again. chk hrd 164 Report post Posted April 5, 2016 Just think where he would be if he didn't leave the NHL for a few years. You can have all the passion in the world but you can't do anything about time. It is amazing that at this point in his career he still has the passion and love for the game to train harder than pretty much everyone else in the league. He is not as fast or agile now as he was 5, 10, 15 years ago but his ability has always been so high he can still play at the highest level. Amazing doesn't even come close to describing him. tonguesOUT4life 17 Report post Posted April 6, 2016 I think that the reason he is still ontop of the points race is because of his INTELLEGENCE

Do you think he's kicking himself for leaving the NHL when he did? He'd probably have passed everyone by now. (In every category) :D
