Stick Reccomendations

Recommended Posts

Hi,

In need of some new sticks and looking for some recommendations from Hockey Monkey Clearance section. The True looks good but never used one before

I use an intermediate stick as I find senior sticks to long and when cut down a 75 Flex goes to a 90 which isn't suitable for me.

Have blown through a RBZ Stage 2 and 2 x Warrior DT1 LT, found i wasn't getting a really getting a nice shot away with my Warriors but did with the RBZ so feel a mid kick stick is better suited for me but need some new recommendations. I live in Aus so feeling sticks isn't really possible and sticks locally cost a fortune. Favorite stick to date was the Warrior Dolomite which I haven't been able to find anything with a similar feel.

Anybody used both these sticks and have a solid replacement?

RBZ stage2 isn't a mid kick, it's a "variable" kick point based on where you put your bottom hand. In this regard it's similar to the true 5.2 and 6.0 but the true blades aren't quite as pingy. I personally prefer the trues over my stage2, which I've recently sold to a friend

Another vote for True. I've got three now, two a4.5s and one a5.2. They're amazing sticks with an incredible amount of value for what you pay. If I wasn't playing with a True, I'd want a Nexus 1N, but that's a much steeper price point right now.

True A6.0 Int's are pretty good. If only True would make a CLEAR/non-grip and 55 -60 flex. My kid uses a 65 flex A6.0 and he really likes it, except is a bit too stiff. He still shoots well with it but I just know it would be even better if the stick comes in a lower flex. His previous stick(s) are Nexus 1000 and he LOVED them. He had 3 before going True.

The Nexus 1000 was an incredible stick. My only gripe is it could've been a little lighter. The True A6.0 is SUPER light and very made and well balanced. My only complaint is that he's had the stick for maybe 1 month, and team practice hasn't even started, but his stick seems to be chipped (not just paint chip since I don't care about that) already at several places from doing clinics and various battle drills... However, it doesn't look like the blade/shaft will split or crack, just some chipping from hard play.

If you're browsing the Hockey Monkey sale I have always liked the EASTON Synergy line. Being that EASTON is no longer in the hockey equipment game anymore, you can get these items super cheap. The HTX is a great stick and if they have a pattern that matches your play style you could check that one out. The Synergy 80 and the HTX are almost the same stick but about $20 difference on the sale right now. The only problem I have with these is that I tend to break them rather quickly. As far as handling, weight and shooting though, I really like this stick.

INT for these only goes up to flex 65 though, so you may be able to get the SR 75 Flex.

SNR are no good, when they are cut they are to stiff for me
