tapered inno novius

Recommended Posts

I know people where complaining about some inno shafts tourqing open on shots. Do the tapered shafts help this at all. I was all set to get an M2 intermediate from hockey giant with the 20% off but they are out of stock. I am thinking of getting a tapered novius now but am concerned about he tourque issue?

It's a good shaft, but I'd pick the L-2 over it. I never had any problems with it torquing that I can remember. I did with the standard version of the Novius though, so I guess the taper does help with that.

I have a standard Novius, in 300 Flex and have not experienced any "Torque Issues" The shaft whips forward fantasticly when you take a shot so the effort I put in now to an average speed shot now comes out as a Hard shot. Could this be what some ppl are talking about when they mention "Torque Issues". Perhaps they are just not used to the whip effect. Then again they could have a faulty shaft and Im just talking shite here!

Either way I love the bloody shaft. Its a cannon and a half!

I've had several different Inno models and all have exhibited the issue to one degree or another. It only happens when I take a lot of ice with a slapper, different techniques will yield different results.

I had an 100 260 flex, and just bought an R2 XN10 reg flex. Tried it for the first time yesterday and I noticed that it opened up alot more than my 1100 did. I don't know if its a matter of getting used to stick or that the reg flex is that much stiffer that it takes some time get the feel of it, but it was far less consistent and i found the R2 allowed the face of the blade to torque open easier than my 1100. However, it was only the first time i used it and it was only for about 2 hours...so I'm not going to automatically say one stick is better than the other yet...just what i have found so far.

I have a 260 flex Right Hand Uncut tapered innovative novius which I absolutely love and have had no problems of torquing with it whatsoever. Im also selling the shaft, if interested look in the sell section.

I have a 260 tapered 1100 with the kovalev pattern and it's awsome.

If I understand properly the torquing means that you shank shots wide. As I think has been said before but I think that is due to a shaft being too whippy for you.

I had a Vapor XX which seems to be the most tapered stick around (hence should not be as big of an issue as on non tapered sticks) but it was the 86 flex which was too much.

I don't think it's a direct correlation to the actual flex itself, because I've felt it on 180s and that's not too whippy.

I think I am going to still try to get an M2. The only other possibility is the bauer X. I like the fact of the grip coating but I have not seen any feedback on the shaft. It sounds like a redo of hte triflex gold. If that is the case it should be a great stick. Anyone Know?

I'm pretty sure the Vapor X is just a TFG with a Vapor name. I didn't particularly like my TFG, but I didn't use it with my normal blade curve, and it was an inch and a half too short for me. When I added a plug it felt wierd because of the Wheelbarrow handle, so I just had to try it without a plug. I think with a normal blade and length it would be better, but I don't want to buy one and a blade just to try it again. I'd still reccomend the L-2/M-2 or Inno 1100 shaft over the Novius.
