Good alternative to the P28?

It may be just a hair higher, but it's as close as you can get without custom ordering a lie 5 P92. I switched to that from the MC and I've had much better luck with that. The only learning curve :) I had was that my shots starting going a little too high. After about 2 or 3 skates, I had brought it down to a good level though.

But this is the absurdity: if I wasn't hasty in my side-by-side lie comparison (maybe I accidentally grabbed a regular TC2, but I'm 91% sure I didn't), we've got another listed 5.5 (MC) actually lower than a listed 5 (TC2-5). I'd say it's high time for a revamping of the lie measuring and marking.

I thought the MC was listed as a 5 lie, not a 5.5? If anything, I would think the TC2.5 would be a 5.5 and not a 5 over the MC being a 5.5. I could be wrong, but maybe we can get a True Rep on here to verify. Also, it could look different because of the rocker of the blades. The rocker is a tad flatter on the MC than it is on the TC2.5. So that could be what you're noticing and not really the lie of the stick.

I can't recall exactly without having a picture, I'll see if I can get one tomorrow. In the pattern DB on here the MC is a 5.5 and the TC2-5 is a 5. I'm pretty sure I accounted for their difference in rocker. They're definitely not in the same family in that regard, but I knew that going into the shop when I put them side by side.

@60PlusWinger What's your height/ weight/ strength (subjective self assessment)/ flex/ skill level?

Just asking because everything you are sounding similar to me in the issues you are having with P88. I found that at 6'2, 215 lbs, working out all the time/ pretty strong, in an 85 flex STX Surgeon RX2.1 X88, cut down a few inches.

I borrowed a friend's 75 flex STX Surgeon RX X88, and I was like "Wow, I barely have to do anything to get pretty much the same velocity I get on wristers, where I am usually working to get something on it in the 85 flex."

So, maybe a lowered flex P88, to address the sometimes weak shots coming off of it?

I just placed an order for a 75 flex X28 and a 75 flex X88 myself; so we will see how it goes. I'd be open to some of the curves being listed in this thread, but as mentioned, the STX RX True Grip of whatever they call their shaft, is just too nice to move away from.

true MC is around 5.25-5.5. Not 5 like pm9. The only MC curve that close to 5 lie (or 4.75ish) is MC from Combat. I have both MC versions (true and combat, totally different curve too) and already compared it to pm9.

I'm 5'9 185 and I can use basically any flex but I like to stick with 77-82. I can use an 87 just fine though.
