hkfury 2 Report post Posted January 21, 2017 Hello, With Mission's Hi-Lo patent having expired in 2016 (http://blog.inlina.com/2012/03/08/a-brief-history-of-hi-lo-inline-skates/), do you believe other manufacturers will start producing skates with this frame setup?

dre3k 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2017 This is very interesting. I would say HiLo is still the most used setup (Mission/Bauer #1 in inline skate sales) and also the most used for ice boot conversions

You think Mission/Bauer outsells all of the 80 setup manufacturers combined?
EBondo 232 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 I'd be willing to put money on that being the truth. Doesn't even come close in my neck of the woods, which is a huge roller hockey hotbed.
dre3k 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 It would basically be Mission & Bauer (individually) vs. Alkali & Tour (I hardly ever see CCM stock inline) and I would lean Mission/Bauer in that case. I only play beer leagues now and the youngest age group I see is Juniors (21u) but in those sectors HiLo is by far the most used. Idk about youth divisions nowadays and 80mm might be more seen in the younger divisions.

Gonna have to start keeping a tally at the rink.
eastside 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2020 (edited) Looks like this eventually came true, is there a major brand now that isn't going to be using 80 76. Edited May 28, 2020 by eastside
