Getting more room in a Bauer 4500

Currently in a medium and dont want to make the leap to a large.  Was looking for a way to get the pads to either break in more or give me more room.  Currently have the thing just about as big as it can go.

Depending on how old your 4500 is you might want to check the new ones in medium.  Between the last two I had the internal padding was changed.  In my newer one it is thinner and layered opposed to my old one that is just once big piece of foam.

Its a newer one.  The store didnt have any larges so i went to a medium but could always use a little more space, especially when its dry

slightly off topic but didn't there used to be 2 versions of the helmet, each with different internal padding?  There was the basic one with just plain tan foam, then a slightly higher model with thin black foam closer to the shell and then the tan foam on the inside which was half the thickness of the other helmet's tan foam (pardon my technical term for it )... this is going back to the mid/late 90's when I first picked one of them up, I then had a few before switching to the CCM V08 (which I love)..  Maybe the OP had the old solid foam lined one which maybe fit slightly different, or maybe that foam was just so old and compressed?

Correct. The 3500 had one layer of grey VN.

The one i have has all tan padding and i believe a thin layer of black between the foam and the plastic.

On a side note i wish they still came with the leather patch on the front for the cage eyelets. Always liked how that looked.
