Has my runners profile changed drastically over time?

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that my speed has been pretty slow, and I feel like I should be a lot faster.

So I put my skate runner on a flat surface and looked at it from the side and it seems like there isn't much blade touching. I've been thinking of getting step steel, but does it look like the profile of these runners has a changed a lot due to the amount of sharpening?

A quality sharpener should be able to maintain your blade profile but it is definitely possible for the profile to get messed up from sharpening.

You should ask your sharpener (if there reputable) how often you should re profile your skates. Eventually they will change to a degree but it shouldn't be that noticeable since it's slowly over time.
