Will this finally expose the fact that Little Timmy’s Kane curve isn’t actually a Kane curve? Or will people order a Kane expecting a P88 and get a Shananan delivered to their door? Much suspense!

Also - the Pastrnak sticks I’ve had in the past have just been stock P28s. Having that, P28, P28M, and Kucherov’s Fisher Pro seems a bit excessive.

What do you like better the P28 or the Kucherov

I am having is a few issues controlling the puck with the P28 compared to my W28. I was looking at switching to Kucherov since it is a bit more closed.

Between the Kuch and Pasta, I prefer the Pasta personally. But it has to be the real deal.

Warrior told me their W28 is a lie 4, and all these P28, Pasta/Kuch are all a lie 5. That is likely my issue

Warrior’s famous for measuring their lies a little differently, leading their numbers to be generally 1 lower than other companies. The lie isn’t actually different.

Likewise, P28’s usually are higher than a 5 by the old Easton scale, lining up with the Drury which was a 5.5 on that scale. This leads to absurdities like CCM calling the P28 a lie 5 when it’s actually higher than their P46 which they called a 5.5.

Lie is important, but unfortunately you can’t trust the numbers patterns are assigned. You have to do the comparisons side by side with the actual sticks.

Pics of the Pasta vs P28 and TC4T.

Old thread but do you have pics of the Pasta still? Debating either the Kuch or Pasta MyBauer.

Does anyone know if they even play differently?

They are honestly both so similar, it is nearly impossible to tell the difference in person if someone didn't point out that it wasn't the same curve.

So when Bauers website says the Pasta is more open, it’s really not?

The main reason I ask is because I actually like the sound of a more open p28, so I’m leaning towards giving it a shot.

I have a buddy who had the chance to meet David and get one of his sticks. Which he brought to pick up. The curve was nasty. The only way I can describe it would be a p28 on meth.

When I went to a store to compare the Pasta to the Kuch to the P28, the Pasta is closer to the P28 than it is to the Kuch, but the difference is super subtle and I doubt it makes *that* much of a difference to the average beer leaguer. And my impression is the Pasta is actually more *closed* than the P28 but that’s based on the eyeball test with the sample they had on display; I don’t know if they’ve updated any of the curves since introducing them on MyBauer (like if pros have since modified them).

The Kuch is identical to the Warrior W28, which to my understanding is essentially a Fisher Pro (think of it as a P28 that is smoothed out from the heel to the mid part of the blade, where the P28 has an ever so slight heel “kink” similar to what you would find on the P91/A family of curves).

Thanks for this answer. Interesting that it could be even more closed.

I do appreciate your help though and peoples descriptions/pictures. I am overseas and there’s only a handful of LHS’ which are hundreds of miles away so I can’t just go pick these curves up to look at them. I have to rely on the internet and pictures.

FWIW I’m fairly confident Sherwoods p28 is also the OG Fisher curve… totally relying off internet pictures and my own Sherwood p28 so I could be wrong. I know each manufacturer is different, I also love trying new curves 🙂

CCM p28 (left) vs Sherwood (right) p28: https://ibb.co/YksSKxm

Bauer p28 vs OG Fisher (kuch curve?): https://ibb.co/j83BdLq

I know it’s a pain but if anyone actually has a Pasta and could side by side compare these in a picture it’d be a huge help.
