Junior Reebock skates- stainless?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen the jr Reebock skates yet? I've go my catalogs, but they don't show or say if the jrs come with stainless blades. I got screwed by CCM last year when the catalogs/early models of the V4.0jr had stainless, then they switched mid-stream.

I'm going to the trade show in Toronto next week and will see them then but I'm working my booking now and was curious. My rep don't know.

Thanks

Nope, there are two shows.

CGSA = Toronto (this wk coming up)

IHIA = Las Vegas (two weeks)

LAst year they merged the two shows. The IHIA show is bigger, but the CGSA has the NHL licensing there.

Those guys are going to have a tough sell this year. How many shops still have a lot of NHL merchandise that they have to discount to move right now. Not to mention all of the new stuff will probably have the new logo forcing the dealers to blow out the old stuff or sit on it.

Keeping this thread off topic ;), this comes from USA Today, Thursday 01/13/05:

Thin ice: Even if the locked-out NHL gets off the plank it now seems to be walking, it's already fallen. NHL merchandise sales in 2004 fell 60% from 2003, research firm SportScanINFO says. Retail sales of NHL merchandise in the last four weeks — including critical holiday sales — fell to $5.6 million. That is an 85% drop over the comparable period a year ago.

Says SportScanINFO marketing director Neil Schwartz, who also notes sales of all hockey equipment fell 19% last year, "That should send a message to the league."

And here's another. TNT Sport's ESPN Sports Poll, which polls 26,000 consumers annually, found that the percentage of the U.S. population saying they have some interest in the NHL fell to 28%-29% in November and December — down from 47.1% at the end of the 2001 season. Says TNT Sport's Tracy Schoenadel, "We've almost never seen that level fall below 30%."

I didn't look over it all, but the flyer I got for this years Toronto show said something about MLB,NHL, NFL and NBA all having deals for it.

I couldn't shut the store down that long for a Vegas trip this year so I decided to go to Toronto, it's a short drive. There may be other sports represented, but seriously folks, a sports show in Canada! Yup, there will be lots of baseball stuff there. :-)

As for NHL merch sales being down, one big reason because of the lockout some were unable to produce new merch, something having to do with revenue sharing, and legal mumbojumbo. At least that's what 2 vendors told me. They were not allowed to make the stuff, so I wasn't going to get any.

Short drive eh? Where are you at and what store do you work for ?

Toronto is a 6 hour drive for me, Vegas is a 6 hour flight with layover.

Average high temps over the next week

Vegas 65-70

Toronto 20-30

We're bringing in another guy to cover for us for the couple of days in Vegas. We're only out of the shop for 3 days.

Are you aloud to take pics at these shows ? (It would be great if someone did...) ;)

I think yes is the answer. I remember last year on corebeam, someone had a pic of the new graf skates.

For the most part that type of activity is frowned upon. The main purpose is for buyers (retail shops) to look over the lines and make decisions on how much to purchase for the upcoming year. Since the product is on display and catalogs are widely available, pictures really aren't needed. Some of the people taking pictures last year were getting in the way of people trying to do business, making it harder on everyone else. Within a couple of days, any catalogs not reviewed can be scanned and posted.

I might take a camera but it will be strictly group pictures.

I was thinking the same thing. I may just get a disposable for that and not risk my digi.

whitby,

Not really a short drive, 8 hrs. But at least I can get out of work on late sat afternoon and drive all night. Then I can get 2-days at the show, only having to close 1 day. I could have done Vegas, but spending all that on airfare for a couple of days is not worth it.

As for my store location, I just rather keep that secret. I'm not on this BB to get or do any business what so ever. I'm here just to have fun and share info when I can. This is JR's site, if you ever have business to do, send it to him.
