Ask me anything about the Marsblade R1

Recommended Posts

Anyone tried the O1 with bigger wheels in the middle spots? Aka “banana rocker”.

4 flat has always felt less manueverable than my rollerblades set to rocker with two middle wheels only touching the ground. Im Wondering if the O1 would be good that way and what size wheels you used.

Has anyone tried removing the blue color from the metal part of the frame? I have seen Coast Hockey shop sells uncolored (silver) and black R1s and would like to remove the blue on my pair.

Removing it is easy. What you do to seal the aluminum is another story. I believe I was one of the first people to have this done by having them stripped and anodized black by a professional shop. This is what Coast to Coast and other people typically do. I then got a second set of lowers so it was faster to swap out wheels and DIY'd them at home. Not near as good of coverage as having it done professionally, but they're good for my use case. Went with brown/bronze for that set.

Thanks for the reply! Those look awesome! Just wondering if you would be kind enough to share more details on your experiences.

What kind of professional shop did you use? Powder coating or like a car body shop?

Also, for the DIY bronze set, did you just sand and paint them? Those look pretty good to me!

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a newb at this.

Anodized, not powder coated. Powder coatings and paint would create too thick of a layer for the chassis to fit and perform as it should. Google anodizing around your area and have discussions with shops

Awesome, thank you! Will do!

How did you go about the DYI option? Feel free to DM if you prefer.

Thanks again for the info, I really appreciate it.

Google DIY anodizing. You’ll need a bit of equipment/chemicals to do it. Unless you plan on anodizing quite a bunch of stuff, in the end it’ll likely be less expensive to go with a shop and you’ll get better results
