new pants

Recommended Posts

i have a pair of TPS 5500s, but i'm just about ready to ditch them, since they have barely any tailbone protection at all. i've landed on my tailbone either from getting hit or getting tripped 3 times in the last two weeks, and i've been to the hospital once because of it, so i really need some pants that have good tailbone protection, any suggestions?

as far as price goes, high quality justifies high price, but i'm looking for something preferrably cheaper, i.e. top of the line pants on closeout etc.

edit : each time i fell, i've had to get off the ice because it hurt a lot. if it didn't hurt, i wouldn't be getting new pants :P

i have sherwood 9950 very good protection comfy ,and a pretty good price

I have those as well and I agree that they comfy and protect well. They are plenty full of padding. They aren't the most mobile though and I feel they are a bit heavy. I wear them cause I want to get up in the morning and go to work without too much of a problem. :D The price is very good as well, but you might be able to do bit better if you have more money to spend.

Nike Quest 2 or Bauer 6000 come to mind.

The Quest 2 were a great pant for me..and right now I'm wearing a 6000 when I play and have had no problems with that.

Bauer and Easton's pants have pretty solid lower back protection.I'm using Airs right now and I've had no injuries there.

I'd agree...I'm using 2004 Air's now and love the tailbone protection...plus the lower spine pad is awesome IMO. You might be able to find some on sale now since they are changing the style for 2005. Great durablity from what I've seen too.

Any of the mid to high line pants should work well for you. Try on a bunch and go with what you like the most.

I'm sure they're available in Toronto and if not you can order them. The price tag is pretty high, but they're worth every penny and will last forever. When you think of top of the line pants, the first thing that comes to mind is Tackla.

I was talking to alot of stroes in Toronto about the Takla pants, and apparently Tackla signed a deal with Prism for pant production in Canada, because their factory in in scarborough. They are using Prism's contour, and isnt a european style, but is bulkier.

Can someone correct me if im completely wrong? I store owner told me something among the lines of this when i asked him to order a pair of tackla pants for me in the summer.
