Shorthanded67 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Today I received a flyer in the mail from www.hockeyempire.com Is anyone familiar with them? I'm assuming they are new. I don't know how they got my home address but I'm assuming they may be related to another hockey e-Tailer whom I receive catalogs from, possibly Great Skate (they're based in Tonawanda, NY). I did check out their site and it has a good layout, typical online prices, free shipping over $150 USD, pre-orders for Easton/RBK/Mission 2005 gear. Just curious if there's any info since this is the first I've heard of it.On a side note, their logo includes a nice little crown that eerily reminds me of HockeyKing.net (The ol' CB boys will understand the joke behind that...) No kidding. I got one in the mail as well and thought it might not be legit. I have yet to check out the website and meant to ask about it here. Glad you brought it up. thunderbirds_are_go 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Looks like they're part of Great Skate - check the Equipment Checklist page, scroll down to the bottom and there's a link to Great Skate. About time Great Skate updated their web-site - that one's terrible to use. Also, the fitting guide text is the same, and the Track Your Order page comes up as Great Skate - UPS Shipment Tracking on the browser. mack 44 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 It was an early debacle where there was a sponsorship from a site that promised goods it could not deliver.
Shorthanded67 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2005 Sorry to rehash an old topic but it's with good reason.I have ordered from HockeyEmpire.com and for what it's worth, I was happy with them. Living in St. Louis, I ordered on a Tuesday and received my product on a Thursday. What was interesting was that the shipping was supposed to be standard UPS Ground (free over $150) but they sent it USPS Priority Insured in a very well packaged cardboard box (OPS stick).Of course, we'll have to get a lot more favorable opinions before we can ascend them to the ranks of EPuck. :D
