Yes, I have heard of quite of a few people that had this problem. Easton changed the '05 boot. Buy new ones? I don't know what can be done. My buddy did everything, thicker socks, taping that part of the ankle, mole skins....nothing worked

I have a pair of Syn's as well. I had problems to start, but I did a few things different and now there awesome. I usually go bare foot in the skates, but I use a sani sock and it makes wonders. I also took a heat gun to the inside of the skate which really helps. I found them stiff at the beginning so I never tied up the last eyeloop. I beleive this was causing alot of rubbing, so I tie them up fully.

I agree that they need to be worked in for about a month.

I did not have any blisters...but then again my skates fit very well. The problem I did have however, is right on the top of the foot/ankle...bad bruises...I might be inclined to give the 05s a ride, but I might have something better coming along...

I had a conversation with someone at the show...they shot a video of the SyNergy skate flex and it didn't - it just bulged out in that area. That's what I felt these were doing.

I had the ankle issues on the sides of my ankles pretty bad, then acted on a little advice from JR and that problem subsided. However, now that I can skate normal in them I've found that my heel doesn't lock into place very well. :(

I just don't know if the shorter boot will help...I would hope so because these really fit me well...they had so much potential!

I have a solution on the horizon. Hopefully it will fix my foot problem...

Sounds like other than the bruises and abrasions people really like this skate. I don't want to start a seperate thread, so can anybody comment on the skate flex and their opinions on if it works or not?

After reading: I had a conversation with someone at the show...they shot a video of the SyNergy skate flex and it didn't - it just bulged out in that area. That's what I felt these were doing.

I'm curious what the consentience is regarding the composite flex.

The area bulges out because the skate is flexing. When the skate flexes the material where it is flexing has to go somewhere so it pushes outward.

Damn I wish my LHS stocked Easton because I like stiff skates. I apologise if it's been stated, but how do they compare to 705s?

The 05 ones have a different liner MUCH like the XXX/8090 liner and i haven't heard of any ankle problems with the new ones.

No, they are not out yet, but i know of some people(myself included) that tried them out, and no ankle problems.
