If I'm not mistaken, S400's are basically S500's but w/ fiberglass/comp materials instead of carbon. And not sure, but I'm going to assume less stiff.

Check out JR's review on the S500 in the Review section for a general idea.

One thing about them is that you have to know that you want a low cut skate. The stability is still there, but it's different from a skate like the vectors or vapors. Not necessarily bad, but if you're the kind of guy who likes a boot that is stiff as rocks throughout the L series is probably the way to go instead of the S series.

actually the tounge and back did seem low when i tried them on, an thats how i like it, not that high, but it was just perfect fitwise...

I have a pair of S400s and I love them. There are different than any other skate that I have had. I like how they use stitching to provide the stiffness, so they dont have to use a whole lot of padding, but still have comfort. I would definitely recommend them.

From what I know, It is very similar, but the outsole, liner and outer material are different. The s500 is slightly stiffer, and a little more durable but for the price of the s400 it is a great skate. And like other people have mentioned it is a a low cut boot and it doesn't necasarily feel stiff, but the support is there. I have skated in ccm tacks and a pair of vectors most recently pretty much exclusivley for the last 5 or 6 years, so I was used to stiff boots as well. I bought the s500's a couple months ago, and it took a skate or two to get used to, but its made a noticable difference In my skating. I liked them so much I bought a second pair and converted it to an inline setup. hope this helps.

yeah thats the major thing i was trying to find out, im all about pricing for skates, and the 400 is almost 200 dollars cheaper than the 500, so i think that the S400 is definitely my next skate

oh yeah, one more question, with the PITCH holder, does this mean that you dont have to profile the skate? just switch to wear you like? becuase i usually do get them profiled, and if i can just switch with the PITCH, then ill save $20 by not getting them profiled

okay, yeah if i knew what the profiling was on my Vectors, I would say, but i forget what it is...looks like ill be experimenting

i was looking at the 400's and wondering if they were low cut like grafs are. i had 625's and was wodering if they are anything the same as in terms of boot style

I think Mission's and Graf's boot heights are very similar. Seems like Mission improved upon many of Grafs ideas, IMO. Certainly lately. My Mission Pureflys were great skates, I tried to replace them with Graf 735s, and then G35s. The G35s were built by half blind, stinking drunk oopalumpas, and the 735s destroyed my feet. My feet aside, I think Mission and Graf skate similarily in regards to boot heights.
