Mission Team Comp Shaft

Recommended Posts

I picked up a Mission Team Comp shaft today at a rink I was at, liking the feel of it a lot....I have a question, is it a tapered shaft or standard?? I was confused cuz I looked at 1800faceoff.com and I got 2 different pictures, the one on the list of all the shafts, and then the display, they were both different. Can anyone clarify this for me? I don't wanna buy a standard blade for it if it's tapered or vice versa.

Thanks guys

i did...but i dont know if it is tapered or not...the guy said that it was a standard shaft, but he didnt seem too trustworthy. were the ones you had in your shop white and then black at the bottom?

i would think is standard but it only on a pic...what i would do is...go at the store(with your shaft) and i try to fit a standard blade in(no heating just push) if you found the hole is big enough for the standard blade...then your shaft is standard! if the blade is too big then your shaft is tapered(but do the same thing to be sure the tapered blade really fit in)

By the way...some blade have about a inch of glue...so consider this when pushing the blade in your shaft!that my advice

If you have another shaft lying around the house i'd compare it to that. if you don't have a spare i'd just try and compare the buttend and the end the blade goes in.

Just take a tape measure and measure out the buttend opening and the hosel opening. There's about an 1/8 inch (~ 4 mm) difference between a tapered and non-tapered shaft so that should be enough to tell a difference. Make sure you compare only the short sides of the shaft and not the broad sides because tapered shafts only taper by their short sides.
