Is it smart

I was wonderin if you think it would be an okay idea to buy one of the new Easton sticks from Behind the Mask? I know they bought the Easton booth, but are those sticks from the booth up to par with the sticks that will be released in Spring? If they arn't the full blown real-deal SL's or ST's then I dont really want to get one, but if they are what the retails will be I am considering a SL. Do the people at the booth let people flex on them all day long or anything? You guys think they would be fine to get one? I know modo 9 said he had a Stealth grip from BTH I believe..

if they are display models, its almost a given that a few idiots flexed it. maybe many. i'd buy with caution. maybe if the price is cheap enough.

When I was looking into possibly getting one, the guy at BTM told me even though they were the display models they ARE under warranty. So, at least you'll know that you can get a replacement if it breaks within the 30 days period.

Ah thats good. If they're under warrenty then if it breaks its no biggie. Plus, probobly not all of them were on display and being flexed, that would be a ton of sticks everywhere.

Flexing a stick off of the ice is alot worse than taking a shot. I wouldn't be overly worried, but there isn't a gaurantee they aren't being flexed at on-line shops or your LHS either.

So, when I called to order, they didnt have a sakic curve. How much trouble would I have going from a sakic to a drury? I didnt order cause I dont know how much adjusting it will take. Anyone think it will be super hard? I use a p88 in Bauer right now, and used a Sakic before I moved to the vapor.

It's a very different curve to me. I actually like the Drury more because it's a shallow curve, while the Sakic is much deeper.

Would it be in depth, say in the middle of a Modano and a Sakic? I had a Federov inno (modo clone) and sucked with it and got rid of it. I searched and read some old topics on the Drury and about how many people loved it once they got used to it, and its piqued my interest.

All of the sticks are just like normal production sticks. Even if you bought a stick at ANY retailer, they are being displayed. People still flex them, they aren't any different. Also, don't fully expect to have your curve/flex preferences in all sticks. There aren't many left at all because of all the internet orders.

Yea he said they had them for a month so it was slim pickins so to speak. And my LHS puts out only 2 or maybe 3 of each stick out on display, you look/flex those ones and then ask for the specifics from there. Like they have a 110, 100, and 85 flex of a stick out, then you ask for the specific one you want, say if I wanted an 85 sakic, and they go in the back and get it, so the one you end up taking home hasn't been leaned on at all. And I figure them bein at an expo with tons of people there flexing them they'd seen more action than one at a hockey shop display.

At various booths you could hear sticks cracking from people leaning on them. I didn't spend much time in the Easton booth so I can't speak for them specifically.
