those arent lightning bolts, that line that runs through the name represents a heart rate spike. Like in the hospital heart monitor, the line is flat then spikes, the goes flat then spikes again. The spikes probably are ment to mean some type of adrenaline burst that makes the heartbeat increase...

Lightning's explanation sounds like something that would make sense, and that's probably what it is. But, I still think they help make the stick look retarded.
