Forsberg injury...

Who would have thought that Forsberg's career would be over before Eric Lindros'?

Although I don't discredit the severity of the concussion. It is his dad who said his career is over, the same dad who wanted him to retire since the spleen thing.

When will journalists stop making up their own gossip?

"He's had his share of concussions, I think it is enough now (to cause him to retire)," coach Kent Forsberg said.

He never said the "to cause him to retire" part, that was something media made up themselves. Sure he has had his share of concussions, and sure, his season might be over (if MoDo lose tomorrow their season is over as it's the fifth quarter final and they're trailing 1-3). But retiring? Nobody said that in the interview. Although concussions can be career ending, I think he will be back, if not this season he'll be back for next season. I hope so anyway.

I as under the impression the retirement thing was part of the question.

The original "quote" written on TSN as reported from an IIHF press release, had his father saying if MOJO wins the next game, Forsberg may be back next week to play in the sixth game of the series.

He better not retire. He has been my favorite player since I was like 2. I don't think that he will retire, because this is all his dad saying this.

forsberg has already came back a supposidly season ending injury.... this year so I'd say that the chances of him retiring are unlikely. Forsberg is as tough as they come and has come back from 6 other concusions, a ruptered spleen as well as many other painful injuries

Peter Nordström (the Färjestad player who did this) claims he just raised his arms to "protect himself", but here's a videoclip of the incident and it clearly shows he crosschecked him, AND I just noticed he put his knee up as well as to knee Forsberg. The first hit in the clip is another hit that rendered a concussion in the same game, Christian Berglund on Per Svartvadet.

What a shame, and all because of some moron cross-checking  If Forsberg has to retire Nordstrom will become public enemy no. 1 in Sweden.

Nordstrom will become public enemy no. 1 in Sweden.

Is that the same Nordstrom who messed with him in the 2001 SC playoffs, and most likely gave him the spleen bursting hit?

Man it feels like just 2-3 years ago I remember Salo coming up with the Islanders.

In this country is he going to be remembered for much more than Dan Cloutier beating the piss out of him?
